On September 28, the second chrysanthemum exhibition of the National Botanical Garden kicked off, nearly 300 varieties of chrysanthemums and hundreds of various kinds of flowers gathered together, and more than 100,000 flowers decorated the park as a sea of flowers, presenting an autumn feast for citizens and tourists.
The reporter of Beijing Youth Daily learned that the North Garden of the National Botanical Garden is the main exhibition area of this year's Chrysanthemum Exhibition. On the west side of the popular science hall, in an exhibition area of nearly 8,000 square meters, tens of thousands of pots of small chrysanthemums of various colors form different color bands and color blocks, forming a sea of colorful flowers.
The theme pattern in the central area of the exhibition area is a Chinese knot, named "Chrysanthemum Dance Brocade", which means that the land of Shenzhou is full of flowers and the motherland is prosperous.
On the east side of the exhibition area, the "Silk Road Flower Language" attraction is mainly composed of chrysanthemum arts such as taju, camel chrysanthemum, and large standing chrysanthemum, and a mini children's garden is formed with sage, dragon's tooth grass, wolf's tail, etc.
On the south side of the core exhibition area is the three-dimensional flower bed of "Phoenix Ming Chaoyang", which reflects the surrounding dragon chrysanthemum, symbolizing the beautiful meaning of "Guotai Minan, auspicious and wishful".
In the container garden at the south end of the three-dimensional flower bed, 9 new varieties of small chrysanthemums selected by the National Botanical Garden in recent years, such as 'autumn makeup red face', 'powder-faced vermilion lips' and 'autumn dye danxia', are displayed in a concentrated manner. At the same time, seven new excellent varieties of chrysanthemums, including the "Gorgeous Autumn" series, "Gorgeous Autumn Candy" and "Gorgeous Autumn Streamer", which were introduced for the first time, were also displayed.
The Bonsai Garden in the North Park of the National Botanical Garden is the fine chrysanthemum exhibition area of this chrysanthemum exhibition. On the northwest side of the bonsai garden, 1,800 pots of 200 varieties of traditional Chinese chrysanthemums are on display. Duben chrysanthemum is the most unique ornamental chrysanthemum, the flowers are colorful, the flower types are rich, some like hydrangeas, some like silk, deeply loved by people. In addition to chrysanthemums, the bonsai garden is also dedicated to the bonsai masterpieces collected over the years. Including more than 20 tree species such as Luo Han Pine, Dragon Cypress, Nine Mile Fragrance, Ginkgo Bigo, etc., a total of 118 pots of works, the overall presentation of the majestic and atmospheric artistic style of northern bonsai.
Opposite the Bonsai Garden, the National Botanical Garden North Garden Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse launched a fine exhibition of succulents during the Mid-Autumn Festival National Day. The National Botanical Garden has a rich variety of plants, collecting more than 17,000 species of various plants (including seed units). Among them, more than 2,000 succulents (including subspecific units) were introduced and collected, involving plants of the cactus family, apricot family, euphorbiaceae, sedum family, agave family and other families, many of which are rare plants.
It is reported that more than 40 species and more than 100 succulents of stems and other types of succulents will be displayed this time, including tortoiseshell dragon and centenary orchid (Chitose orchid) in the large-scale rare and succulent exhibition area; Ebisu laughs in small popular succulents, stalks such as sleeping cloth bags and other types of succulents. The exhibition also introduces the classification, growth habits, conservation characteristics and other contents of succulents through the combination of plant objects and popular science knowledge exhibition panels, and conducts scientific popularization of succulent plant knowledge.
In addition to the popularization of succulents, there are also a number of popular science exhibitions and activities in the National Botanical Garden Science Museum. The exhibition of plants and human life in the main exhibition hall of the popular science hall tells the inseparable relationship between humans and plants through people's clothing, food, housing and transportation. The Science Popularization Museum held the "One Fruit, One World, One Son, One Bodhi 'Bodhi Seed' Plant Exhibition" in the Yuanzhi Hall on the first floor. In the form of graphic exhibition panels and physical exhibits, it was popularized to everyone that "Bodhi Zi" does not specifically refer to the seeds of the Bodhi tree.
At the same time, the exhibition of nature notes in the popular science museum, the popular science video of plants and the "symbiosis of all things" science popularization lecture hall will tell wonderful plant stories for the general public and tourists during the festival.
