Opening remarks:
2023 is the first year to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, a key year for the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the 45th anniversary of reform and opening up and the 10th anniversary of the renaming of Wuhan Airport Economic Development Zone.
The Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the District Party Committee, the Publicity Department of the District Party Committee and the District Rong Media Center jointly planned a series of reports on "Airport International Hot Land, Dreams Converge Here", by telling the process of foreigners working, studying, living, struggling and foreign-funded enterprises settling, taking root and developing in Wuhan Airport (Dongxihu), listening to their "Airport Stories", and seeing the different weather of Airport (Dongxihu) from their perspective.
In the morning sky, the Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan University of Light Industry gradually became lively. "Hot dry noodles", blonde Maria expertly prematurely in the cafeteria. Go to study in the morning, drink lotus soup for lunch, go to the library for self-study in the afternoon, and go to Jinyin Lake or Garden Expo Garden in the evening to walk and take selfies. She and her classmates have planned how to spend the new day.
Maria, a 23-year-old international student, is from Kursk, Russia. This is her second visit to China. In 2019, she got the opportunity to come to China to learn Chinese, master some basic Chinese vocabulary, and learn traditional Chinese culture such as tea art. The white-walled cornices, Hanfu, and Luo skirts fascinated Maria. "Chinese culture is very old and fascinating, which makes people have an endless desire to explore."
However, friends told her that China not only has history, but also has a miracle of rapid modernization.
"If you want to know more about China, go to the central city of Wuhan." In the winter of 2022, Maria successfully applied for a postgraduate study at Wuhan University of Light Industry.
"It's young and fashionable here." Maria's mobile phone saves photos of her first day in Wuhan, Jinshan Avenue flows endlessly, light and shadow move on the Wuhan Airport Cultural Center complex, and the undulating high-rise buildings surround Jinyin Lake.
"If you study international trade, you can have more employment opportunities." Benefiting from the "Belt and Road", some of Maria's friends are engaged in Sino-Russian trade.
In the class of Wuhan University of Light Industry, the teacher will cite examples such as the China-Russia Wanli Tea Ceremony, China-Europe Express, Hanou International Logistics Park, and Dongxihu Free Trade Zone to explain the concepts in the textbook.
"Wow, these examples are not far from the school, in Dongxi Lake." After class, Maria likes to visit the field.
China-Europe trains, magnificent international logistics parks, a dazzling array of transnational goods... Photos fill Maria's mobile phone space, and also make the concepts in the textbook vivid and intuitive, giving Maria a deeper understanding of "international trade".
"I want to share Russian chocolates and cookies with my friends. When I returned to Russia this year, I carried a big bag, and later found out how stupid. There are so many things in the shops of the Dongxihu Free Trade Zone, which are too rich. ”
City backpackers are Maria's way of life in Wuhan.
Take the subway when leaving the school, get off at random, Jinyin Lake, Garden Expo Park, Jianghan Road, Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River Bridge... Every site, in her opinion, every time, is as interesting and surprising as opening a blind box.
Maria's favorite is the Garden Expo and goes almost every week, "Every week it feels different." ”
"I'm not afraid of getting lost, I'm Chinese very enthusiastic and enthusiastic. Every time I say East-West Lake, they can point me to a few paths. "Maria's Chinese pronunciation of words such as East-West Lake, Garden Expo Garden, and Treasure Lake is very accurate.
Volunteering is another interesting aspect of Mary's life. She successfully checked in several residential areas such as Evergreen Garden, planted trees together, and tutored children in homework. The community also taught her Chinese customs. "Use your hands to serve a cup of tea" "Chongyang Festival to send blessings to your parents!" ”
Although she has been in Dongxihu for less than a year, Maria has a feeling that "every day is fresh".
The new school season arrives in September, and Maria is about to welcome 18 students from her hometown. "I want to tell them that coming to Wuhan and Dongxihu is the most interesting blind box I have ever opened. Open your hearts and get in! ”
Regarding the future, Maria said: "I may return to China, or I may stay in Dongxihu to work, but no matter where I am in the future, my heart is with Dongxihu!" ”
