As the closest country park to downtown Shanghai, Pujiang Country Park hopes to narrow the distance between people and art through artistic expression that integrates creativity and nature, and explore the way of harmonious coexistence between people and the urban countryside. Among them, the wallless art museum is the core exhibition part of the Pujiang Forest Art Season, the design is inspired by the natural environment, combining natural elements and works of art, breaking through the limitations of traditional art exhibitions. The Wallless Art Museum integrates green vegetation and natural landscape, and the artworks are arranged between trees and flowers to reflect with nature, breaking the boundaries of traditional exhibition venues and allowing citizens to enjoy art works in nature.

The chief curator of the 2023 Pujiang Forest Art Season is Hu Yi, and Wang Chunjie and Chen Xiaohu are invited to be the curators of the theme exhibition "Forest Sense Symbiosis". This year's exhibition has three categories: outdoor sculpture and installation, tent painting, comprehensive art, and wall painting. The artists respectively expanded their gaze from the three directions of "natural home", "green dimension" and "forest illusion" to interpret the theme of the exhibition. Nature is a viable living space for human beings, and it also conveys the aesthetic world of emotional "smooth spirit". The artists' creations express the intimate relationship between man and nature, and explore the balance between urban development and green ecology from a unique perspective. Pujiang Country Park will make full use of the resources of the Huangpu River, and the woods and meadows along the Huangpu River are the main venue of this art season, and artists can re-weave contemporary culture and new imagery for the future through creativity.

Art tent

Tent camping is an increasingly popular way for young people and families to travel these days. Inspired by this, the planning team launched the art creation of tents, which became one of the characteristics of the Pujiang Forest Art Season. In Wang Chunjie's view, the use of tents is an innovative form of land art, a sustainable idea, easy to promote, and in line with the living environment of contemporary people. In the woods, 31 local artists completed 30 art tents, and almost everyone created a "tent painting". The art tent is created in a variety of styles, from abstract and symbolic images, to realistic and graffiti styles, showing the imagination of the artists.

Wang Chunjie also said that the special thing about this Pujiang Forest Art Season is that the participating artists are all working in Shanghai, and compared with a large number of foreign art museum tours or individual solo exhibitions of Chinese artists in Shanghai today, they hope to promote and support the creation of local artists in Shanghai. At the same time, as an art museum in the woods, the effect of the picture changes with the outdoor light, which is the unique charm and advantage of the wallless art museum. He pointed out that there are more than 90 art museums in Shanghai today, and there is no real wallless museum, and they want to try a 24-hour wallless art museum that blends into the natural environment.
