The Deep-Middle Passage is a cross-sea cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interconnection", with a total length of about 24 kilometers. Among them, the main span of Lingdingyang Bridge is 1666 meters, and the height of the main tower is 270 meters, which is equivalent to 90 floors high, which is the world's largest span sea steel box girder suspension bridge and the world's highest navigable clearance scale cross-sea bridge.

The catway is about 4.1 meters wide, the total length of a single piece is about 3 kilometers, the highest point is 270 meters from the sea surface, and the lowest point is 105 meters, which is currently the highest catway at sea in the world. The project department of the S04 contract section of the Shenzhen Middle Channel of CCCC-2 and the project department of the S05 contract section of the Poly Changshen Middle Channel are responsible for the construction.

The entire catway demolition mainly relies on the mutual cooperation of winches, pulley sets and tower cranes and other mechanical equipment. He said.
Catway demolition is a high-altitude and high-risk operation, and Lingdingyang Bridge is located in the open sea area of the Pearl River estuary with high temperature, rain, strong wind and other weather, and there are many unknown risk factors, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety risk management and control of catway demolition. "In order to ensure the safe and efficient completion of catway demolition operations, the project management team carefully organized, conducted all-round drills, prepared special construction plans for catway demolition and conducted multiple expert reviews, strengthened the safety technology disclosure and training of operators, and increased investment and inspection supervision of safety protection measures." Yao Zhi'an, deputy director of the Shenzhen-China Passage Management Center, said that the construction team spent 15 days to complete the demolition of the 3-kilometer catway side net and surface net, and about 40 days to complete the demolition of the entire catway system.
At the construction site of the Lingdingyang Bridge, Yang Silin, a worker from Chongqing, is winding the last catway load-bearing rope with his colleagues. At present, the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is sprinting towards the goal of being completed and opened to traffic in 2024.
