CCTV News (News Network): The Hangzhou Asian Games entered the first competition day after its opening today (September 24), producing a total of 31 gold medals in rowing, shooting, swimming, gymnastics and other events throughout the day.
In the women's lightweight double sculls final at 9 a.m., the Chinese pair of Zou Jiaqi/Qiu Xiuping crossed the finish line first with a time of 7:06.78, the first gold medal ever won at the Hangzhou Asian Games. In addition, the Chinese team also won five gold medals, including men's lightweight double sculls, women's quadruple sculls coxless and men's eight sculls coxswain.
In the shooting competition, the Chinese team composed of three "post-00s" young players Han Jiayu, Huang Yuting and Wang Zhilin won the women's 10m air rifle team championship with a score of 1896.6 rings breaking the Asian record. Subsequently, in the women's 10m air rifle individual competition, Huang Yuting and Han Jiayu won gold and silver medals.
The wushu competition produced two gold medals today, with 34-year-old Sun Peiyuan successfully defending the men's long boxing title with a high score of 9.840, achieving a third consecutive Asian Games title. Another Chinese competitor, Tong Xin, won the gold medal in the women's Taijiquan Taijiquan Taijian all-around event.
