Dong Zhuo even threatened Yuan Shao to obey his orders. However, Yuan Shao did not give in, and he drew his sword and declared his will. He said that his sword was equally sharp and would never succumb to Dong Zhuo's pressure. Yuan Shao left Luoyang to seek a better way out.
In order to consolidate his rule, Dong Zhuo killed Ding Guan Shangshu, who disobeyed him, and poisoned the deposed emperors Liu Zhan and Empress Dowager He. He constantly abuses his power and enters the palace to spoil the palace maidens, all in order to satisfy his selfish desires.
One day, Dong Zhuo led the army to Yangcheng, and the local people were preparing to assemble, but they were slaughtered by Dong Zhuo. He ordered all men to be beheaded, women and belongings taken away, and the first rank burned. Such acts can be described as heinous.
Dong Zhuo's actions caused dissatisfaction among the world. Among them, Wu Fu tried to assassinate Dong Zhuo, but was unsuccessful. Dong Zhuo later discovered all this, but instead of killing Cao Cao, he withdrew the knife in Wu Fu's hand. This plot is described very thrillingly in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
In fact, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" has some differences from the real situation in history. There is no plot in the official history where Cao Cao assassinated Dong Zhuo, and the person who really assassinated Dong Zhuo was Wu Fu. As a loyal courtier, Wu Fu bravely tried to get rid of this tyrant, but in the end he paid with his life.
Dong Zhuo's atrocities aroused the wrath of Yuan Shao. Yuan Shao wrote to Wang Yun, hoping to unite with other princes to fight against Dong Zhuo. Although there are changes in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Wu Fu's heroic deeds are accurately recorded in history. He was a loyal minister who fought for justice, and although he failed, his actions are still praised by later generations.
