Rugby originated in 1823 from the English Rugby, originally called Rugby Football, abbreviated as Rugby. Because its ball resembles an olive and originated in England, it is also called rugby.
Rugby is a highly confrontational, fun and ornamental ball game that combines strength, speed, bravery, tenacity, intelligence and team spirit, divided into 15-a-side, ten-a-side and seven-a-side systems. The Asian Games rugby is played in a seven-a-side format.
Rugby sevens play with seven players on each side. The game is divided into two halves, each with 7 minutes each, with no more than 2 minutes at halftime. After the start of the game, all team members can touch the ball with any part of the body, use their hands or feet to catch the ball, pass, kick, pounce, run with the ball and catch, shoulder top, flutter the opponent to hold the player, participate in the group scramble for the ball, press the ball to touch the ground, etc., but the team members can only pass the ball backwards or side in parallel, can not pass the ball forward, and cannot fall forward when receiving the ball.
The main way to score in rugby is when a player from one side enters the touchdown zone with the ball through the other team's baseline (polar formation) and successfully touches the ball to the touchdown or kicks the ball directly into the door of the opponent's defense. Different scoring methods have different scores:
Touchdown scores, that is, the ball is brought into the opponent's polar array area to press the ball to the ground, and the score is 5 points;
penalty touchdown points, i.e. if a player may have already scored a touchdown without a foul on the opponent, or will have a touchdown in a better location, a penalty touchdown will be awarded between the two goalposts, with a value of 7 points;
Additional scoring score, that is, when the team member scores a touchdown, the scoring team gets the right to additional attack, and the additional attack can be used by a fixed point kick or a landing kick, and the score is worth 2 points;
Penalty kick shot, that is, the player kicks the ball into the goal through a free throw, and the score is 3 points;
Landing kick and shot score, that is, the player holding the ball can release the ball during the game, and then kick the ball into the opponent's goal after the ball bounces up for the first time, which is worth 3 points.
At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins.
