Xuwen County is located in the southernmost Leizhou Peninsula in Chinese mainland, which is the largest pineapple production base in China, because it grows a large area of pineapples in the boundless hills and mountains, forming a magnificent pineapple planting landscape belt, so this "pineapple sea" is known as the "pineapple sea".
This summer, a group of college students from Longgang came to Xuwen County to investigate the current situation of the pineapple industry and planting problems, and helped Xuwen pineapples embark on the "Belt and Road" in Chinese, English and Russian, and strive to broaden overseas communication channels.

"It's called 'Ananaro', and it's an IP cartoon character that we created by combining pineapples and matryoshka dolls." Zhang Mengdi, head of the Xuwen Rural Revitalization Practice Group from Mozhanjiang, Shenbei, introduced.
In July this year, in response to the "100 Million Project" for young college students in Guangdong, they formed a commando team to go to Xuwen County.

In the exchange with local pineapple farmers, the members of the practice group learned that Xu Wen is located at the southernmost tip of the Leizhou Peninsula, and transportation can only be transported by sea or land, which has also become the reason why Xu Wen's pineapple is limited in brand awareness and spread.
Since we want to let good products "go out", we must have good brand promotion packaging. The members of the practice group thought of designing a cute IP image for Xu Wen Pineapple. So after several drafts of revision, the cartoon image of "Ana Naro" was born.

The yellow skin and green leafy pineapple appearance, combined with the round Russian matryoshka doll, is very cute. Student Nie Tingjing said that in Russian, pineapple is pronounced "Ana Naxi" (Ананасы), and in order to better cater to the Chinese and Russian audiences, they combined "Ana Naxi" with pineapple "Luo" to come up with the cute name "Ana Naro". At present, after modeling, the three-dimensional image of "Ana Naro" has entered the stage of patterning, and it will soon become a physical "peripheral" product of Xu Wen pineapple.
"Why not sell it on Russian e-commerce platforms so that Russians can also taste Xu Wen pineapple?" As soon as Robert from Russia proposed his idea, it was unanimously approved by all members. So they started a survey on pineapple e-commerce sales in Russia. In recent years, Xuwen pineapple has been exported to Russia, Kyrgyzstan and other countries and regions, but the most suitable cross-border marketing model is still being explored.

Tan Pengyu, who studied in Russia, told reporters that the tropical fruit pineapple sold in Russia mainly relies on imports from Costa Rica, and the products sold in Russia are mainly pineapple derivatives rather than fresh pineapple. Xuwen County is geographically closer than half the distance to Costa Rica, and selling Xuwen pineapples and derivatives to Russia can reduce Russia's import and transportation costs on the one hand, and broaden the sales channels of Xuwen pineapples on the other.
University students explore cross-border marketing models
Through cooperation with local businesses, a batch of "Ananaro" custom pineapple mooncakes with unique flavors were born. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the first batch of customized pineapple mooncakes will be given to all teachers and students in Shenbei Mo, and the members of the practice group look forward to making Xu Wen pineapples "famous at home and abroad" through the tasting of Russian and Chinese teachers and students.
It is understood that the first batch of mooncakes is already in intensive production, and the practice group has also docked with OZON, Russia's largest cross-border e-commerce platform, and officially launched "Xuwen pineapple mooncakes" before the Mid-Autumn Festival, so that more Russians and more people from "Belt and Road" countries can taste the sweetness of Chinese food.

After returning to school, the practice group also became a "pineapple recommendation officer", with the theme of "pineapple sea", carry out garden activities in the school, design pineapple-related international cultural and creative products, and implant the "Xu Wen Pineapple" brand in various follow-up contact activities with Russia, helping Xu Wen develop broader overseas sales channels and make the "sea of pineapple" fragrant floating in the world.
