On September 16, the State Administration of Taxation website published four tax-related cases, in which actress Yuan Bingyan and her affiliates were fined for tax evasion. Two other online anchors were fined for tax evasion and failure to settle individual tax returns.
After investigation, Yuan Bingyan obtained part of the labor remuneration and underpaid individual income tax without filing a tax declaration in accordance with the law; and partially used for personal consumption expenses in their holding affiliates in violation of regulations, and pay less personal income tax. Its affiliates have tax-related problems such as underpayment of value-added tax and enterprise income tax in violation of laws and regulations for personal consumption expenditures, as well as failure to withhold and pay individual income tax.
During the tax inspection process, Yuan Bingyan actively cooperated with the tax authorities to provide information truthfully and took the initiative to report tax-related violations that the tax authorities had not yet learned. Taking into account the above circumstances, the Seventh Inspection Bureau of Chongqing Municipal Taxation Bureau imposed a total of 2,973,800 yuan on Yuan Bingyan for recovering taxes, imposing late payment fees and fines on Yuan Bingyan in accordance with the Individual Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China, the Enterprise Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China, the Tax Collection and Management Law of the People's Republic of China, and a total of 1,329,800 yuan on her affiliates. The Seventh Inspection Bureau of Chongqing Municipal Taxation Bureau has served Yuan Bingyan and her affiliates with the Decision on Tax Treatment and Tax Administrative Penalties in accordance with the law, and Yuan Bingyan and her affiliates have paid the tax penalties and late fees in accordance with the regulations.
The relevant person in charge of the Seventh Inspection Bureau of the Chongqing Municipal Taxation Bureau said that the tax department will continue to strengthen tax supervision in the cultural and entertainment sector, seriously investigate and deal with tax-related violations in accordance with the law, continuously improve the compliance of tax laws for employees and enterprises in the cultural and entertainment field, and further create a fair tax environment under the rule of law.
