Born poor, wandering around
Ma Guoguang was born in Beijing in 1932 and his ancestral home is Jinzhou, Liaoning. His father's name is Ma Dingchen, and he is still Zhang Xueliang's personal guard.

6-year-old Ma Guoguang was taken away by his father and never saw his mother again.
In 1941, when Ma Guoguang was nine years old, he secretly left home and lived a life of upheaval and exile ever since. But at a young age, he had no money, his clothes were ragged, his stomach was growling with hunger, and he had no place to live.
To make ends meet, he picked up rags on the outskirts of Shijiazhuang during the day and had to sleep in a dilapidated temple at night. Ma Guoguang has been adrift for so many years, hardly eaten, and is often beaten. With long dirty hair, he was a little beggar.
Until 1948, he joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and worked in the second fleet of the 578th Regiment of the 1st Red Division, because of his outstanding artistic performance, he was assigned to the 65th Army Literary Labor Regiment and the North China Military Region Cultural Labor Regiment.
After the founding of New China, Ma Guoguang joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and successively served as a correspondent, soldier, propagandist and other positions, and later went to the front line of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea.
He was one of the first singing actors trained in New China, and in January 1954 he was transferred to the Beijing Military Region's Comrades-in-Arms Cultural Troupe to perform.
Ma Guoguang has a good voice, who is listed as a key training person by the troupe, and has learned to sing under the guidance of famous vocal teachers such as Shen Xiang and Li Huinian.
In 1950, Ma Guoguang married his wife Lu Zuli, and later gave birth to a daughter.
Ma Guoguang has been searching for his missing mother for decades, through his acquaintances and friends, as well as with the help of the civil affairs department, but has never found out about his mother.

The separated mother and son were finally reunited
Ma Guoguang's mother never contacted him again, but after Huang Huazhen and Ma Dingchen divorced, they married again, and married a railway worker, Song Qing.

However, when one of Ma Guoguang's comrades returned to Fushun, Liaoning Province, in 1981 to visit his relatives, he inadvertently learned from Ma Guoguang's stepmother's nephew that Huang Huazhen lived in Liushuibao in Jinzhou.

In the process of searching for her mother, Gao Fenglou, a cadre of the Jinzhou public security system, became an important clue. On the second day, Gao Fenglou went to Liushuibao with colleagues from the Municipal Sports Committee, but learned that Huang Huazhen and her husband lived in Jinzhou, so they returned to Jinzhou again.
When Ma Guoguang was in his fifties, his mother had tears in her eyes when she heard his songs, and immediately recognized Ma Guoguang on the TV as her child.
Therefore, she wrote to Ma Guoguang, but he did not dare to recognize his mother, and in recent years, many old ladies have been pretending to be Ma Guoguang's mother to find relatives and want to take care of them themselves.
Later, with the help of relatives and friends, as well as the help of his childhood neighbors, Ma Guoguang finally determined that this time it was his mother. He can accurately say Ma Guoguang's nickname, as well as the time and place of birth.
At noon that day, Ma Guoguang and his mother, who had been separated for decades, finally reunited.

In 1986, when Ma Guoguang recovered slightly from diabetes, he was selected as a judge for the first National Youth Singing Competition, which was a new task and a new role in his military career.
In the process of pursuing his musical dream, Ma Guoguang lacked a family warmth when he was a child, and his love for his mother was also non-existent all the time.
He and his wife Lu Zuli have a good relationship, both husband and wife, brothers and sisters, comrades-in-arms and teachers and students, sometimes brothers, sometimes comrades-in-arms, and sometimes mother and son.

Finally, on December 21, 1989, 57-year-old Ma Guoguang died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Beijing. His untimely death saddened his wife Luzuli and his two daughters.

She and her daughter sometimes sing in unison, sometimes alone, she has a good voice and can sing many songs. But because there were no other personnel involved, and there was no accompaniment, it was a bit monotonous. At this moment, there was a warm applause in the audience.
Ma Guoguang's wife and her family walked into the hall and received thunderous applause from everyone. Lu Zuli also co-wrote "Military Songs Loud" with colleagues, which is a collection of military songs, including chapters from various periods such as the founding of the army, the war of resistance, and the liberation. Her life was full and strong, and she has been remembering her husband and other loved ones who have died.
However, Lu Zuli's life has also experienced many tribulations. In 2016, Lu Zuli's eldest daughter Lang Lang died in an accident. Middle-aged widow, old age widow, Lu Zuli is full of ashes.

Lu Zuli's brother also died of cancer in 2019, and the youngest Ma Lanlan's family has moved to the United States, while she herself lives in Beijing.
