OnePlus Ace 2 was released in February this year, and it's been half a year now, and I've been using it for half a year. First, the appearance and details
Let's summarize in one sentence on the appearance: the consistent evaluation of OnePlus mobile phone is meticulous workmanship, delicate feeling, solid quality, and it feels like a work of art in your hand.
We are now going to unpack and show some details of the phone.
My color is ice blue, and it looks a little green and a little blue.
Although the OnePlus Ace 2 is positioned as a mid-range machine, it also uses silk glass that is exactly the same as OnePlus 11, which is smooth to the touch and a little grainy, and the intuitive description is a bit like the feeling of touching the skin. It also has a little pearlescent effect when it rotates under light. In the center is the logo of OnePlus.
The upper left corner is the same circular lens module as the OnePlus 11, but it is different from the OnePlus 11 in details: firstly, there is no Hasselblad logo, secondly, OnePlus 11 has a dreamy feeling of the starry sky, and the details of the Ace 2 are very regularly arranged, all pointing to the circle from the inside to the outside of the center of the circle composed of small rectangles from the inside to the outside. Compare as shown below:
On the front is a center-punching camera. The left and right sides are curved, and the feel in the hand is still very good. The screen size is 6.74 inches, the resolution is 2772×1240, 450ppi, 100% sRGB color gamut and 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, the refresh rate is 120Hz, the touch sampling rate is 720Hz, the peak brightness is 1450 nits, and there is 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, equipped with Lingxi touch technology. The sunlight is also very clear, the touch of this screen is very sensitive, through the South German precision touch S certification, so the quality of the screen is still very good.
The middle frame around is also curved, so the overall feel of the phone is very slim. On the top middle frame, from left to right (the angle of the picture), are: noise-cancelling microphone, infrared, and speaker. In fact, the top speaker is not only this oval cutout, the earpiece at the top of the screen can also be put out, so that they form a dual speaker array with the bottom speaker.

On the left center box are the volume "+" and the volume "-".
On the right center frame are the OnePlus classic three-stage and power keys. We have seen all four directions, and we have not seen the signal antenna opening, so this is a plastic frame made of metal.
2. System experience
OnePlus Ace 2 system is ColorOS 13.1, recently updated version 1.0.181 and added a small cloth suggestion component to the desktop. It can intelligently carry out weather reminders, flight time reminders, flight reminders, express reminders, etc., which is very convenient.
The processor of the OnePlus Ace 2 is a full-blood version of the Snapdragon 8Gen1, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS3.1 ROM capacity, and then the latest version of the system version of AnTuTu runs a score.
On the left is the score I ran when I just received the phone, I forgot the system version at that time, and on the right is the score of AnTuTu 10.0.7 version, and the score has improved.
Earlier, I mentioned a new feature added by the latest version of the system, so then I will talk about two small features unique to ColorOS 13 that I have used for so long.
1. Automatic mosaic
In the past, when we needed to mosaic the chat screenshot, we needed to enter the mobile phone's own or third-party retouching software to manually erase the information we didn't want to leak, but in ColorOS 13, we can make it automatically realized, and we don't need to spend time and energy erasing it bit by bit.

2. Free floating window
Today's Android phones have the application floating window function, but most brands need to slide up and pause to enter the application background during actual operation, and then click the operation from the background application to select the floating window in the options, which is relatively cumbersome. And my special application floating window in ColorOS 13 is mainly because it does not need these complex operations, just pull up from the bottom of the application, pull to the top to show release and release. In comparison, it is not a star and a half. Click once to operate with a small window, and then return to the desktop it will float the small window, double-click the picture of the small window to directly enter the application in full screen.
3. Charging and battery life
1. Daily use battery life experience
Daily use 24 hours to turn on Wi-Fi, dual 5G in the network, GPS positioning use, and do not clean up the background, from full power to 20% prompt low battery, as follows to get the daily battery life performance of OnePlus Ace 2:
The battery life takes 8 hours and 4 minutes, of which the screen time is 6 hours and 2 minutes, there is 20% power left, completely used up and turned off, the screen time can be about 7 and a half hours, for a 5000mAh battery, this endurance is not bad.
2. Charging test
The maximum charging power of OnePlus Ace 2 is 100W, we charge it from 20%, record the instantaneous power and power of charging every 5 minutes, and get the following chart:

From the above three figures, we can know:
1. OnePlus Ace 2 from 20% power to 20 minutes full sharing time, the whole speed is still very fast;
2. From the third real-time power map, the charging method of OnePlus Ace 2 is to reach the maximum power at the beginning, and then begin to gradually reduce the charging power like the next step until it is almost full to maintain a relatively low charging power, which can protect the battery.
4. Game experience
Earlier, we had a preliminary experience with the OnePlus Ace 2's mobile phone system, so the actual performance still depends on the game data. In the following part, I tested the data of "Peace Elite", "Honor of Kings", "League of Legends Mobile Game", "QQ Speed", "Honkai 3" and "Genshin" respectively, let's take a look together.
1. "Peace Elite"
Let's start with a screenshot of the quality settings:
The picture quality is set to the highest supported by OnePlus Ace 2: Ultra HD, water reflection is turned on, and the frame rate is set to the highest ultra-high. Then let's play a round in normal mode to see its frame rate:
The game is basically stable at about 40 frames, with a fluency of 98.53 and an average temperature of 40.59 degrees.
As the official designated machine for the Peace Elite event, the picture quality is set to the highest supported by OnePlus Ace 2: Ultra HD, water reflection is turned on, and the frame rate is set to the highest ultra-high. If you choose smooth picture quality, then you can have 90 frames, if you want a high frame rate, it is recommended to use 90 frames + smooth mode, the picture quality is not ultra-high-definition.
2. "Glory of Kings"
Honor of Kings image quality and frame rate settings:
Select all the highest, and turn on the anti-aliasing.
Frame rate recording for a game in normal mode: It was very stable at around 60 frames in the game, and I was also surprised that I turned on a very high frame rate, but it turned out to be 60 frames instead of 120 frames. But fortunately, the overall is still very stable, the fluency is 97.37, and the average temperature is 40.21 degrees.
Open the game mode battle for a round, which starts at 120 frames, but gradually drops to about 90 frames after the first 41 seconds, and lasts until the end of the game, with a fluency of 95.82 and an average temperature of 41.18 degrees.
3. "League of Legends Mobile Game"
League of Legends Mobile Game image quality and frame rate settings:
The frame rate is set to a maximum of 120 frames, the picture quality is the highest: high under this option, and the resolution is also the highest selectable: medium. In normal mode, we look at the game data:
The performance of the League of Legends mobile game is still very good, and it is basically stable at 120 frames during the game, and it is about to end for some reason it dropped to 60 frames, and there were some frames dropped when there was a group in the middle, and finally the burst crystal also dropped frames. The fluency is 96.83, and the average temperature is 41.37 degrees.
The performance in the game mode is not as good as the normal mode, which has remained at 120 for a while, but it is not as stable as the normal mode, and when it is not stable at 120 frames, it will drop to 60 frames, the smoothness is 93.72, and the average temperature is 41.08 degrees.
4. "Honkai 3"
In-game graphics quality and frame rate settings:
The rendering is precise, the shadows are extremely high, the battle frame rate is 90, the other frame rate is 60, and all other effects are turned on.
The normal mode game is basically stable at 50 frames, the smoothness is 95.48, and the average temperature is 41.71 degrees.
In the game mode, it is also basically stable at around 50 frames, with a smoothness of 95.82 and an average temperature of 42.8 degrees.
5. "Genshin"
Picture and frame rate settings:
The frame rate is 60 frames, and all other settings are set to high.
Normal mode sometimes stays at 45 frames and sometimes drops to 30 frames, with a smoothness of 95.63 and an average temperature of 44.24 degrees. It seems that this setting is still a little stressful for the performance of the OnePlus Ace 2.
In game mode, it averages 45 frames, fluency is 96.28, and average temperature is 41.76 degrees. The game mode is still better than the normal mode's heat control, and Genshin really tests the performance of the mobile phone the most.
6. "QQ Speed"
Game screen and frame rate settings:
The image quality and frame rate are set to the highest.
The game stabilized at 120 frames, with a fluency of 95.02 and an average temperature of 41.92 degrees.
7. Summary
Through the above, we can see that the overall game experience of OnePlus Ace 2 is still very stable, and the lowest average temperature of the game is "Honor of Kings" 40.21 degrees, the highest is "Genshin" 44.24 degrees, and the overall heat dissipation performance of the mobile phone is very good. Because this is all measured at a room temperature of about 32 degrees when the air conditioner is not turned on in the summer, without any additional heat dissipation clips. This is mainly thanks to the super large heat dissipation system owned by OnePlus Ace 2: 5177mm² ultra-large area eight-channel full through VC, a new generation of high-performance graphite with 92% increase in heat dissipation performance, 6355mm² ultra-large area of heat dissipation black technology phase change graphene, these three heat dissipation materials and a large area of two-way superposition make the game experience of OnePlus Ace 2 smoother and better control the heating of the mobile phone.
5. Mobile phone camera experience
The last thing to say is the OnePlus Ace 2 camera experience. It has three cameras on the rear: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera (supporting OIS optical image stabilization), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front is a 16-megapixel camera.
Let's start by taking some of the photos I took with the OnePlus Ace 2. All the following pictures that are not otherwise explained are original images without color grading.
1. Main camera
I found that I took fewer double main shots, mostly 2x digital zoom shots.
The stray cat squatting in front of my house when I returned to my hometown in winter, I shot it with 2x digital zoom through the glass, ignoring the reflection of my hands, only looking at the cat, even if it is 2x digital zoom, the hair details are very rich, and the warm winter sun on its body is also very good-looking.
In the photos taken for children in kindergarten, the red color is still very good, the hue is very accurate, and the saturation is normal.
However, the white balance of this donut floats quite a bit, and the background is actually a pink, which is actually the case if I adjust the tone to the naked eye.
The white balance is a bit drifting in the direction of blue and green.
Colored pencils, color reproduction is still very accurate.
Passing by the Expo venue to take a picture, automatic mode, no night mode, the dimming and pressing is also very good, the shadow is also very natural, not blindly brightened, so that it looks layered.
Passing by a public phone booth, which is really rare nowadays, this picture I like more is a large, highly saturated red, yellow, blue.
Passing through the passage of a sunken square, I felt that the silhouette was very feeling, so I stood in the right position and took a lot of pictures, and I also selected a few photos that I thought were more interesting and turned into high-contrast black and white photos, as follows:
Although the OnePlus Ace 2 does not have a telephoto camera, the quality of the photo is still good after the main 2x digital cropping.
Sunrise at 5 a.m. The sky is very red and the ground is still immersed in the atmosphere of the night.
Use professional mode to shoot splashes, the method is quite simple, in order for the cup to look very close to the lens, and there is no distortion, so it is still 2x digital zoom shooting, if you use automatic mode shooting, because the shutter speed is not high enough, the water out of the water has no form, very blurry, then at this time we can use professional mode, adjust the shutter to more than 1/1000, because the aperture of the mobile phone is fixed, so the front side through ISO to high-speed picture light and darkness. Find the right time and start snapping. If you also want to look better, change the color a little in the later stage:
The texture of the water is even better.
2. Portrait mode
Because there is no telephoto, zoom is not supported in portrait mode, and the shooting is still a small wide-angle perspective, but the overall bokeh is still good, especially below we see that there are many people, as well as animals and cages, this kind of picture is already very unfriendly for mobile phone algorithm blurring, but the overall feeling of we look at the picture blur is still very natural.
3. Light painting mode
In the camera of OnePlus Ace 2, there are still three options of "heavy traffic", "moving clouds and flowing water", and "light painting graffiti", I used "light painting graffiti" to shoot lightning a few days ago, but these three gameplay methods are not for shooting lightning, shooting lightning low iso, high shutter, and these three modes are low shutter long exposure, suitable for shooting cars on the street, light painting and flowing water.
When lightning is not particularly obvious, the phone can barely catch lightning.
4. Time-lapse photography
The above is the actual effect, OnePlus's time-lapse photography is very good, you can choose different speeds and resolutions.
The speed varies from 10x to 960x, and you can choose the right speed according to your subject matter and target shooting duration, and the resolution is also supported in 1080p and 4K.
5. Macro experience
We mentioned above that the OnePlus Ace 2 has a camera that is a macro lens, and I also tried to shoot with it, but the final effect I don't think is good, let's take a look at the picture:
The left side is a macro lens shot, even if I clicked focus and looked at the preview frame on the screen is in good focus, but it also feels very blurry, and everyone carefully looks out of focus, all around as if in a circle, looking a little dizzy, this focus is really not miserable, even not as good as the macro effect shot by the main camera's 2x digital zoom.
It's the same with another one. And from top to bottom, these two comparison charts can also be very obvious that the adjusted white balance of the macro lens is seriously bluish compared with the main camera, and it feels overcast.
So if you really want to shoot macro, I recommend not using a macro camera, you can use the main camera 2x digital zoom for shooting, and there can be a relatively natural physical blur.
6. Front selfie
I'm still very satisfied with the front selfie effect of the OnePlus Ace 2, mainly because it doesn't over-dermabrasion, the skin is still very detailed, and it doesn't put lipstick on the mask without wearing a mask.
7. Video shooting experience
The OnePlus Ace 2 supports stabilization on the front and rear of the video, and there is AI auto-beautification on the rear, but AI beautification and stabilization cannot be used at the same time, only one at the same time. The rear resolution supports 720p, 1080p, and 4K, and the frame rate supports 30 and 60 frames, and they can be combined with each other without limit, which means that there are a total of 6 settings to choose from.
Let's take a look at how video stabilization works.
Without using any phone stabilizer, turning on the anti-shake option, walking to shoot a video, everyone is still very stable. This is very suitable for the current self-media era, you don't need to bring a stabilizer, you can shoot good quality material anytime, anywhere.
VI. Summary
Today is to share with you my experience of using the OnePlus Ace 2 phone for half a year. The phone has its good points and of course its shortcomings. After all, the price and positioning are stuck, so it is understandable to compromise on some aspects.
The good thing is that OnePlus has always felt good, really fantastic, although OnePlus Ace 2 is positioned as a mid-range machine, but OnePlus has no compromise in its appearance and feel, using OnePlus 11 the same silk glass, in this regard, it is really better than some flagships.
The configuration also chooses the full-blood version of the Snapdragon 8Gen1, and the combination of large areas of heat dissipation can have a better gaming experience.
Although the camera does not have a telephoto, the main camera is indeed strong enough, so it can still take good photos and videos. However, the macro lens does not perform well, and this lens feels dispensable.
