Nests played an important role in flowers and birds in the late Qing Dynasty. The landscapes and flowers painted are elegant, and the grass worms are vivid. In the commentary on Deng Shi's "Inscription Painting Poems of this Evening Temple", it is believed that the characteristics of Juchao are that they are good at using water and are vivid, so as to be born in order to be obituary with the living family and scale Nantian.
JuChao: (1811-1865), painter of the late Qing Dynasty. The original name is Yi, the character Shijie, the number Meisheng, Meichao, the lord of the Present Night Temple, etc. Ju Chao and Ju Lian are cousins, and later generations are called "two residences". A native of Jiashan Township, Panyu County, Guangdong Province (present-day Haizhu District, Guangzhou), the painter Cheng Yun Shouping. Works of poetry.
Ju Chao was born in the sixteenth year of Qing Jiaqing Xin Wei (1811), died in the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865), and lived for fifty years. Juchao was originally from Baoying County, Jiangsu Province, and came to Guangdong as an official in his ancestors, so he settled in Panyu Henan Across the Mountain Township. Grandfather Yun Jing was a Qianlong Pengzi (1768) who was elected as the head of the Tai Po County Sect, but because of the difficulties outside Ding, he did not go, so he signed the Lechang Teaching. In the early years of Jiaqing, he was appointed as the county of Minqingzhi in Fujian. For the sake of honest government, it is deeply worn by the people.
Ju Chao first served as a staff member, and then was elected by the Zhang clan to serve as a "Tongzhi" position slightly higher than that of Zhi County. During his time in Guangxi, he asked for paintings by Song Guangbao and Meng Xiaoyi. Press, Song Guangbao, Ziliu Bai, Yizi Coupling Tang, Jiangsu Wu County (Suzhou) people; Meng Xiaoyi, Zi Litang, No. Yunxi, Jiangsu Yanghu (Changzhou) people. The two were both hired by Li Bingshou, a native of Jiangxi, to teach flower writing at his apartment in Guangxi, "Huanbi Garden".
Zhang Jingxiu was in office in Guangxi, at a time when the rebels in various places were constantly rioting, so he traveled from place to place, tired of coping, and in 1855 he was dismissed due to the loss of Xuncheng, and returned to his hometown the following year, and Juchao also returned to Panyu. Later, at the invitation of Zhang Jingxiu and his nephew Zhang Jiamu several times, he went to Dongguan with Ju Lian and lived intermittently for several years. At that time, Zhang Jing built the Ke Garden, Zhang Dingming built the Daosheng Garden, and the two residences successively lived and painted in the two gardens. The beautiful natural scenery and excellent material conditions of Keyuan enable the "second residence" to calm down and concentrate on painting.
Juchao mainly lives in Keyuan. Here, he created a large number of extremely exquisite works of art, and at the same time, he also wrote many popular poems, such as "Zhang Defu Lian's Visit to Keyuan Miscellaneous Songs", "Keyuan Plum Blossom, Sitting Alone on the Moon, Quietly Cherishing Li Shaowei, Hong Shaozhu, Li Cibai, Li Songsun And Sorceress", etc., with more than thirty poems. During the Garden period, it became the heyday of his art.
Ju Chao's artistic career is related to Zhang Jingxiu. In the ninth year of Xianfeng (1859), Zhang Jingxiu was transferred to Jiangxi to inspect the history, and the following year, Juchao also went to Nanchang. There are two poems in the "Imayyaki Anshi Banknote" that mention this point, one of which is:
"After Jiang Right August, Jasmine no longer makes flowers,
Flowers bloom at four o'clock, I don't know the autumn old,
Don't you want to think about Lingnan?
Because of the memory of the opening of the year and the end of the lantern day in Foshan,
The peach blossoms have been in full bloom, and they will arrive in Nanchang on March 14,
The peach blossoms are still blooming,
Make up a must send a message to the garden bards"

"Under the flow of the gorge, on the calamus stone,
Delicate and cute, pick a few fists to raise the plate of water,
Bring it to Nanchang Department.
Tingke noon, business thrives,
No different from when in the mountains, poetry is rewarded";
After JuChao left Guangxi in 1856, in addition to living in Dongguan for a long time and accompanying Zhang to Jiangxi, he also returned to Guangzhou and other places from time to time, and had contacts with the literati at that time. Some of his poems and paintings with years can be seen. In addition, Zhang Jingxiu's poems include a poem titled "Lieutenant Meisheng will go to Yunnan to draw an inscription", which contains sentences such as "The ribbon has been wiped, and the rong has been silked", which shows that the footprints of Juchao are as far away as Yunnan.
In the third year of Tongzhi (1864), after Zhang Jingxiu died of illness in Keyuan, the Ju brothers returned to their hometown, and the following year, Juchao also died of illness in the next mountain township.
Throughout Juchao's lifelong artistic activities, after middle age, it is basically closely related to Zhang Jingxiu's rise and fall, and most of his life has been spent in foreign countries, "displacement has no settlement strategy, aging is light to go to the national thought", in the long-term exile life, creating clear works of art and beautiful poems, achieving a unique historical position in the modern Guangdong painting world.
