On September 8th, as the theme event of the 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Culture Expo, "Xiangyuan Yiqing - Gandhara Art Exhibition of Pakistan" was exhibited at the Gansu Provincial Museum. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the Palace Museum, the Bureau of Archaeology and Museums of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture of Pakistan, the Gansu Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau and the Gansu Provincial Museum.
It is understood that a total of 212 cultural relics/sets are displayed in this exhibition, including 173 pieces (sets) of Gandhara art from the collections of 7 museums such as the National Museum of Pakistan and the Islamabad Museum (including the precious collections of museums from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, the core area of Gandhara) and 30 pieces (sets) from the collection of the Palace Museum. The exhibition is divided into three sections, taking the development of ancient Gandhara civilization as the context, reflecting the vitality and creativity of Gandhara art in the continuous exchange and mutual learning of civilizations along the Silk Road. At the same time, nine cultural relics with strong Gandhara art characteristics in the collection of the Gansu Provincial Museum were also exhibited for three months.
