First, the talented son Zhu Guang
Zhu Guang was born in Bobai County, Guangxi in 1906, and the famous Zhu Xi was his ancestor. He began to be involved in Qinqi calligraphy and painting at a very young age, showing his extraordinary talent, teachers and classmates liked him, and his works were regarded as treasures.
In 1926, Zhu Guang, who had excellent grades, was admitted to the Guangxi Provincial No. 2 Senior High School. Zhu Guang was gradually influenced by progressive ideas and joined the Communist Youth League under the introduction of Zhu Xiang, the principal.
The following year, Chiang Lao staged the "April 12 Counter-Revolutionary Coup" and arrested Communists. The "White Terror" quickly swept the country. In this situation, many communists chose to withdraw, but Zhu Guang did not hesitate and led 200 people to participate in the Guangzhou Uprising led by Ye Ting and others.
Because of his talent for painting since childhood, the red tie worn by the rebels in the uprising was designed by Zhu Guang. In 1929, Zhu Guang in Shanghai was arrested for a traitor's informant and tortured in prison, but even so, Zhu Guang did not reveal anything, and was later released due to insufficient evidence.
In 1930, Zhu Guang formally joined the Communist Party of China and was later appointed political secretary general of the Red Fourth Front. In 1932, Lao Chiang's third "encirclement and suppression" was successfully crushed by our army. However, in the same year, the fourth "encirclement and suppression" failed due to Zhang Guotao's wrong command, and our army was forced to move west.
In December, in Xiaohekou Village, the Red Fourth Front held a meeting of cadres at and above the division level, severely criticizing Zhang Guotao's erroneous command, and Zhu Guang also put forward many constructive suggestions, and said that the future battle plan could not be decided by Zhang Guotao alone.
The meeting successfully changed the overall situation of the New Fourth Army and improved its combat effectiveness considerably. But soon, Zhang Guotao changed his face, and the cadres who had criticized him were all hit. Zhu Guang bore the brunt and was not only expelled from the party, but also imprisoned.
Fortunately, Zhu Guang was indeed talented, not only could write well, but also drew maps, which saved him from being killed by Zhang Guotao. But as a result, he was forced to follow the Red Army on the Long March with the shackles.
Second, walk through the Long March in handcuffs
In 1935, the Red Fourth Front began its 25,000-mile long march, during which Zhu Guang and others were forced to handcuff and march with difficulty. You know, the Long March was very arduous, but they were dedicated to the party, and even though they were shackled and wronged, they never slacked their duties, and they were good comrades who contributed to the revolution.
They were not only bound by handcuffs and leg irons during the day, but also carried a large number of printing tools; At night, exhausted, they had to draw maps overnight, mark the terrain, etc., very carefully and carefully.
In addition, the Long March has to withstand the harsh tests of nature. When crossing the snowy mountains, their handcuffs and leg shackles were all frozen on their bodies, and if they moved, a large layer of flesh and skin might be torn off. The shoes under the feet have long become thin, and they do not play any role at all.
There were still many such dangers, but Zhu Guang followed closely all the way, did not dare to fall behind, and dragged his sick body through the 25,000-mile long march and successfully arrived in northern Shaanxi.
After that, Zhu Guang and others were imprisoned again, and it was not until a year later that the central authorities began to thoroughly investigate the unjust, false and wrong cases created by Zhang Guotao, so that Zhu Guang and them were finally rehabilitated and were able to restore their freedom, party membership and reputation.
After that time, Zhu Guang began to engage in theater work in Yan'an. and personally choreographed and directed the drama "Blood Sacrifice to Shanghai" to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Battle of Songhu. As soon as this play was broadcast, it was greatly appreciated by Chairman Mao, and he also formed a deep friendship with the chairman.
Soon, Zhu Guang was sent to the Lu Xun Art Institute and the Marxist-Leninist Institute as secretary general, and concurrently served as a teacher, training many outstanding cadres for our party. In 1938, a writer from Shanghai went to Yan'an, and after receiving him, Zhu Guang introduced him to Chairman Mao.
Seeing this, the young man gave Chairman Mao the famous books and posters he had collected, and Chairman Mao was very happy, these were treasures that could not be bought at that time. However, the chairman did not notice that the eyes of someone next to him lit up, it turned out that these books were the "treasures" that Zhu Guang had been looking for for a long time.
I saw him stretch out his big hand and jerked away a few books: "I want these books!" These are famous books, how could Chairman Mao let him: "How can this be reasonable!" However, Zhu Guang was not afraid, and said with a straight face: "Calligraphy works aside, Shakespeare has to give me these copies!" ”
Chairman Mao laughed, and the two argued to declare a "truce": the books could be read by both, but Zhu Guang wanted to perform "Othello" for the chairman. In this way, the book sticker given by the young man to the chairman was evenly divided by Zhu Guang.
3. Which one are you?
In 1949, Zhu Guang was transferred to Guangzhou, on the eve of the founding ceremony. Thinking that some old comrades-in-arms and leaders had not seen each other for a long time, I took the opportunity to pass through Beijing to visit and see them.

Later, when Chairman Mao inspected Guangzhou, Zhu Guang was always accompanying him, and the chairman still knew something about Zhu Guang's work in the past few years, and after hearing that he was only 47 years old, the chairman immediately praised: "I am still young, I have made great achievements!" ”
