In 1977, the news of the resumption of the college entrance examination spread throughout the country, but due to the lack of local information, Huang Danian only learned the news three months before the start of the exam.
After learning this, Huang Danian was dissatisfied with the status quo and began to work hard to review, during the day, Huang Danian was busy with survey work against the big sun, and at night, Huang Danian endured mosquito bites and had to memorize textbook knowledge.
In the end, with an excellent score of 80 points above the admission score, Huang Danian was successfully admitted to Changchun Institute of Geology, a national key university.
After that, Huang Danian spent four years of undergraduate and three years of graduate school in Changchun, Jilin, after graduation, many companies offered high salaries hoping that Huang Danian could join their team, but Huang Danian refused, he had already made up his mind to contribute to the country, he decided to stay in the school to teach.

After that, Huang Danian's parents died of serious illness one after another, but he was presiding over top scientific research projects abroad at that time and did not have time to return, for which Huang Danian felt very guilty.

In April 2009, Huang Danian finally waited for the mail sent from China, asking him to return to China and contribute to the country. Huang Danian was ecstatic and immediately informed his British boss that he was resigning and returning to China.
The boss of a certain British company immediately asked him to talk to the office, and asked three whys in a row, he did not understand that Huang Danian had such a high treatment in the UK, and there was a garden villa next to Cambridge University in the UK, living a life that everyone envied, and he had to return to China.
Huang Danian said nothing, except to ask for his departure as soon as possible, and the British threatened him that he must promise not to use the research results in the UK, otherwise the company would have the right to hold him accountable.
Huang Danian's attitude remained tough, saying: "I know very well that I will submit my resignation report, sign a confidentiality agreement, and abide by my promise for life." ”
Huang Danian's wife had two clinics in the UK at the time, and the business was very hot, which was the success she had worked on for decades in the UK. But when she knew that someone in China had informed Huang Danian to return to China, she understood that she had to leave. Huang Danian's wife pushed all the medicines and medical machinery into the garage, and then sat in the garage crying.
Huang Dajun said: "This makes me very uncomfortable, I think I have to leave quickly, or I will leave, maybe I will change my mind, and feelings can really keep people." Quickly packed up my things, a lot of things were lost, ignored, as if fleeing, and returned by plane on Christmas Eve. ”

After returning to China, Huang Danian became a professor at Jilin University, and as the chief scientist, organized more than 400 outstanding scientific and technological personnel from universities and scientific research institutes across the country to carry out research on two major projects: "high-precision aeronautical gravity measurement technology" and "development and experiment of key instruments and equipment for deep detection", with a total investment of more than 500 million yuan.
In a few years, Huang Danian traveled back and forth to more than 10 scientific research institutions, fought side by side with hundreds of scientists, and completed the difficult journey of Western developed countries in 20 years in five years.
In December 2016, Huang Danian fainted while participating in a scientific research project, and although he fainted, his hands were clinging to the computer and he couldn't open it. After being woken up, he said to his secretary: "If I can't do it, please give my computer to the state, the research materials in it are very important..."
While hospitalized, Huang was still teaching his students, and Huang's secretary later recalled: "When Mr. Huang was on business trips, he often turned the phone to hands-free at noon and gave remote lectures to students in the office. He used to say that I had a knack for teaching this to my students as soon as possible. ”
After returning to China, Huang Danian cultivated a large number of talents for the country, and he used his overseas resources to send a large number of outstanding students to study overseas, and said to these students: "You must go out, and when you go out, you must come back; You must be present, and you must serve the country when you are present! ”
On January 8, 2017, Huang Danian died in Changchun at the age of 58 due to ineffective medical treatment.
