On August 30th, Hongqiao Town held the opening ceremony of Hongguan Hongqiao Handicraft Base and the first exhibition of "Happy Rainbow", which will provide a platform for display, publicity, inheritance and exchange of handicraftsmen in the jurisdiction, integrate Hongqiao intangible cultural heritage, art culture, handicraft craftsmen and other resources, create a display place for Hongqiao culture, a gathering place for art exchanges, a inheritance place for intangible cultural heritage and handmade skills, and an incubation place for a new generation of craftsmen, influencing and driving more people to learn and inherit Chinese traditional culture and inherit and carry forward handicraft skills.
The first exhibition "Happy Rainbow" held on the day had 7 handicraftsmen exhibiting, the oldest of them is in their 90s, the youngest is in their 20s, and their works include calligraphy, seal carving, paper cutting, leaf vein painting, face molding, sachet, weaving and other 9 categories, many of which have won national awards and honors, attracting many residents to visit.

A new cultural space for Hongqiao people
"Hongguan" is located on the 1st floor of Hongqiao Town Cultural and Sports Center, No. 2800 Wanyuan Road, covering an area of about 500 square meters.
"Historically, Hongqiao was named after the beautiful rainbow in the legend of the ancient bridge, and the name 'Hongguan' means to take root in Hongqiao culture, land in the community, and create a new cultural space belonging to the residents of Hongqiao Town." According to the staff, at the same time, "rainbow" also means rainbow, which means rich and colorful, showing the multi-talented, dedication to the community spirit of Hongqiao residents and the vigorous development of cultural undertakings in Hongqiao Town.
Walk into the "Rainbow Hall" and stroll through the sound of babbling water, the quiet and chic environment is impressive. The exhibition hall is divided into the theme exhibition hall "Incubation Island", the first exhibition hall "Jihong", the second exhibition hall "Binye", the third exhibition hall "Jicui", the fourth exhibition hall, the cultural and creative products exhibition area and the multi-functional area "Yuehong Lecture Hall".
The names of the three exhibition halls are selected from the traditional Chinese colors "Ji Red, Silky Leaf and Jicui", which refer to the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue, and the colorful colors are changed from the three colors, which means starting from the "Rainbow Pavilion" and bringing colorful cultural life to the masses. The name of the multi-functional space lecture hall "Yuehong" is taken from the urban development positioning of "Only Hongqiao, Yuehongqiao", which inherits the roots of Hongqiao culture, helps Hongqiao culture prosper, and continues the significance of Hongqiao culture.
In terms of functional positioning, the first exhibition hall will display relatively small works, the second and third exhibition halls will display relatively large works, and the fourth exhibition hall will have a permanent "Only Hongqiao, Yuehong Bridge" theme photography exhibition, presenting Hongqiao craftsmen, cultural and sports activities, happy life and other photographic works. The multi-functional area can be used as an exhibition hall, as well as holding lectures and training, and can also be used to shoot short videos of handicraft processes and artworks.
After the operation of the "Rainbow Hall", exhibitions and related activities will be held throughout the year, covering three-dimensional weaving, leaf vein painting, painting, calligraphy, incense sachets, seal carving, etc., as well as supporting intangible cultural heritage lectures, handicrafts, "art" classes, etc.
The people become the real protagonists
"Hongguan" adopts the operation mode of "the government sets up the stage and the people sing", and forms an autonomous association, so that the people can become the real protagonists.
"After we set up the platform, we are responsible for providing support for the people, such as venues, funds and event guarantees, so that the craftsmen in the town can sing the leading role and sing big plays on the platform." Shen Jialin, director of the Hongqiao Town Cultural and Sports Center, told reporters that a group of representative handicraftsmen - such as calligraphy and painting experts Xu Yaqin and Rui Sanbao, Ye vein painting experts Chen Jianhua, paper cutting and seal carving master Yao Guanlin have become members of the autonomous association, while the presidents of the six regional group alliances in Hongqiao Town will also be included in the autonomous association.
The theme of the exhibition is decided by the craftsmen themselves, and works that fit the theme of the exhibition are collected in various communities. Experts and scholars are invited to guide the selection of works, and professional curators are invited to arrange the exhibits. To this end, "Hongguan" invited experts and artists in related fields to form a Hongguan academic advisory team, and issued a consultant certificate at the launching ceremony on the same day.
The theme of the first exhibition is "Happy Rainbow", the exhibition highlights the characteristics of Hongqiao Handmade Base, focuses on handmade people, and explores their happy life and struggle stories. These artisans are both residents and artistic creators, and their works reflect both personal struggles and genuine feelings of a happy life. In the hall on the first floor, "Meet "Yourself" and "Hongguan" children's art works exhibition are also on display.
It is worth mentioning that there is a wish tree placed at the exit of the "Hongkan", and community residents can leave their views and opinions on the exhibition after participating in the exhibition, as well as the content of the next exhibition. The autonomous association will also take into account the opinions and suggestions of the residents, and combine the needs of the residents to hold exhibitions that the people love to see.
Give "Rainbow Hall" more connotations
In the future, Hongqiao Town will play a good role in "assisting" and give "Hongguan" more connotations with the help of multiple forces.
On the same day, Hongqiao Town, together with the District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, the District Education Bureau and Shanghai Duoyunxuan Group, launched the "Hongguan Hand-in-Hand Series" social aesthetic education project. As a traditional culture education base in Minhang District, "Hongguan" will cooperate with primary and secondary schools in Minhang District to carry out the "Holding Hands with Youth" activity, carry out high-quality public art popularization education activities for young people, and continue to create full-time, all-age and coherent social aesthetic education services for primary and secondary school students.
In addition, in cooperation with Shanghai Duoyunxuan Group, the "Holding Hands with Duoyun" activity, with the help of academic professional and artistic resource advantages, focused on polishing intangible cultural heritage courses, approached the traditional production techniques of the "Duoyunxuan Woodblock Watermark" national intangible cultural heritage project, and formed a themed and series of Duoyunxuan woodblock watermark public art popularization education activity courses.
In addition, it cooperated with Minhang District Museum to carry out the "Holding Hands Minbo" activity, carried out popular exhibition extensions, expert guides, and focused on creating a "Hongguan Youth Group" volunteer cultivation program to inject youth power into the high-quality development of the community.
Considering the needs of young people in the jurisdiction, "Hongguan" will also launch limited sneaker exhibitions, fashion trend art exhibitions and other exhibitions that young people like to see, and also actively attract enterprises in the jurisdiction to enter the "Hongguan" to hold exhibitions to show their products and corporate culture to community residents.
In the future, Hongqiao Town will select excellent works from the collected works for framing, and tour the beautiful corridors of the community, in addition to entering the community, Hongqiao handmade works will also enter the party and mass centers, buildings, business districts, schools, so that the art works from the grassroots drift at the grassroots level, and build the "Hongguan" into a "new cultural landmark at the doorstep" within the town.
