The term of office of world leaders today is limited, and generally speaking: two consecutive terms in power, and then re-election. However, there are exceptions to everything, and if there is outstanding performance during the period of power, it is possible that there will be three consecutive terms, or even four terms.
Roosevelt, who led the United States to win World War II, broke the record for four consecutive terms, becoming the first president in U.S. history to serve four consecutive terms, a combined term of 12 years.
During World War II, Stalin, the second leader of the Soviet Union, reigned for 29 years, setting a record for the highest term of office in the Soviet Union.
