At 10 a.m. on August 25, 100 media "big coffees" from 52 mainstream media and industry organizations across the country came to Badou Village, a World Heritage town, to appreciate the strong style of fishing villages, taste the taste of ecological development, and learn the way of "riding the wind and waves" of small fishing villages to achieve common prosperity.
Badou Village, Yigang Town, is a small fishing village on the coast of the Yellow Sea closest to the sea, close to the core area of the World Natural Heritage Site Tiaozi Mud Wetland and the Yellow Sea National Forest Park. "Seafood and sea scenery on the seashore, fisherman's fishing village and fishing culture" makes Badou a well-known ecological and cultural village. The second batch of UNESCO World Heritage Sustainable Tourism China pilot projects were launched here, and Badou Village was awarded the title of "World Natural Heritage Protection and Community Collaborative Development Practice Base".
Guests from central media such as Economic Daily, People's Political Consultative Conference, China News Service, Farmer's Daily, Rule of Law Daily, as well as provincial media news clients, and party media clients from 13 international wetland cities visited the Party and Group Service Center of Badou Village and gained an in-depth understanding of the "past and present" and eco-tourism development of this beautiful and livable fishing village.
More than 200 years ago, the location of Badou Village was still a shallow beach, the tide ebbed and flowed, the ancestors of Badou who came to make a living built a shed with miscellaneous trees and reeds, turned the grain storage bucket over and used it as a table, and people called eating on the fence bucket "fence bucket rice", hence the name Badou Village. Today, Badou Village has become a model of eco-tourism village where gulls and herons gather, thousands of birds are happy, and man and nature live in harmony. In recent years, the per capita disposable income of farmers in Badou Village has exceeded 55,000 yuan, the cumulative accumulation of village collectives has exceeded 12 million yuan, and the cumulative savings deposits of residents have exceeded 120 million yuan.
This butterfly change originated in 2019, when the Yellow (Bohai) Sea Migratory Bird Habitat (Phase I) was successfully inscribed on the World Heritage List, ushering in new opportunities for ecological development in Badou Village, located in the core area of the World Natural Heritage Site. The village seized the opportunity to develop rural tourism, continuously upgraded and transformed tourist attractions, took the road of integrated development of fishery and tourism, invested more than 40 million yuan to develop the Sanshuitan leisure tourism resort project, and also built a new visitor center, fishermen's home, Chuxin Square, Badouquan Station and other attractions, so that the ancient fishing village integrated into modern life elements, with the conditions of rural tourism "eating, living, traveling, entertainment, shopping", the whole village by characteristic fishing culture, red culture and the original style of the seaside wind scene point. It is connected into a 3 km long tourist line.
"Watching the tide, watching seabirds, tasting seafood, living in a fisherman, enjoying fishing, visiting fishing villages... These fishing village customs can be enjoyed in one stop here, which feels very convenient, and the ecotourism in Badou Village is very well done. Walking in Badou Village, I saw "fishing" shadows everywhere, Wu Jiangyi, member of the Party Committee and director of the editor-in-chief office of the Yinchuan News and Media Center, sighed.
"Hey, oh, yes! Oh, oh..." This voice came from the sea, far and high. This voice embodies the diligence and wisdom of the fishermen in Dongtai, and this voice is the "fisherman's trumpet" in Yigang, which is listed as a provincial intangible cultural heritage. "These 'fishermen's trumpets' are rich in content, rich in sound, very rich in life atmosphere, very local characteristics, and truly reflect the process of fishermen's labor." Jin Tao, director of the Ecological Communication Center of Yangtze River Daily, said that the itinerary of this trip was very fulfilling, and he had a deeper impression of the city of Yancheng, the air quality is very good, and everything from the urban area to the countryside is clean and tidy, ecological and livable.
