The release date of Mindkiller 2 has been adjusted to provide "more space" to play during a very busy autumn season
Fans of horror games have been waiting for Mindkiller 2 for a long time, but the game will face a lot of competition in October. Games like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonderland, Forza Motorsport, and Assassin's Creed Phantom will take the spotlight, and Remedy seems to have decided to change their release date a bit in anticipation of giving the game a little more time to breathe.
"An update from the Mindkiller 2 team: We're postponing the release date of Mindkiller 2 from October 17 to October 27. October is an amazing month of game releases, and we hope this date adjustment will give everyone more space to enjoy their favorite games. We can't wait to show you next week what everyone's favorite novelist has done in the Dark Places. Thank you for your patience! ”
Not sure how much difference this adjustment will actually make. Previously, Mindkiller 2 was released before Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonderland. Would it really be better to go on sale after them? And, now the game will be released on almost the same day as the new version of Haunted House. I'm guessing Mind Killer will be bigger than Haunted House, but... Direct survival horror game competition. I know horror games love to release around Halloween, but Remedy (the game developer) might want to consider leaving October altogether. A release in December or early 2024 may really breathe Mindkiller 2.

Interestingly, we asked them directly about the October competition (the interview was released in June) and they didn't seem too worried at the time. Maybe it's a little bit changed now, but they're right – competition is something you can never escape.
