Second, fear of provoking the West.
Ahmadinejad is the West's most troublesome president. This extremely tough president has made the West extremely angry. The West abhors this, but there is nothing to do. The rise of reformers and the arrest of Ahmadinejad in 2017 improved the relationship to some extent.
Now Iran's relations with the West are tense again, and if Ahmadinejad is released, it will add fuel to the fire and provoke the West, which is not good.
Third, fear of stimulating one's status.
President Ahmadinejad is a well-known president of Iran and abroad. He was in power for 8 years and was deeply loved by the people. And being forcibly arrested because of the election is unfair in itself and has received sympathy from the population. Therefore, love and compassion will make Ahmadinejad more popular. Once Ahmadinejad comes out and continues to run for president, it will be difficult to suppress.
