Guo Hongsheng said that if the school were to be restored, it would not be possible to start as scheduled on September 1. "The desks in the art classroom have all turned over, all the electrical appliances are basically scrapped, it is difficult to recover, the cycle is very long, the cost is high, and the conditions for the start of school cannot be met."
Shilou Middle School, which was less affected by the floods, is relatively close to Xiacun Middle School and has better facilities. The Fangshan District Education Committee decided to merge Xiacun Middle School with Shilou Middle School, and all 17 teachers and 87 students of Xiacun Middle School will be merged into Shilou Middle School in the new semester.
