1 Overview

The construction of the link line between East Ukraine Railway (Haileshao-Gongwusu) and Huinong Station is the need to build a new development pattern and implement the ecological protection and high-quality development strategy of the Yellow River Basin. It is the need to adjust the energy structure of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, ensure energy supply, and build a strategic coal reserve base in northern Ningxia; It is necessary to implement the relevant plans of the autonomous region, promote green transportation methods, and achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality"; It is the need to improve Shizuishan's external transportation channels, integrate logistics infrastructure, optimize Shizuishan's business environment, and drive regional economic development; It is the need to reduce the transportation cost of enterprises in Shizuishan City, effectively realize logistics cost reduction and increase efficiency, and improve the economic efficiency and market competitiveness of enterprises; It is the need to make full use of the advantages of railway resources, enhance the competitiveness of the railway market, and improve the efficiency of railway enterprises.

The connecting line between East Wuzhou Railway and Huinong Station is a freight railway for foreign exchanges in Shizuishan area, which mainly undertakes the cargo exchange between Shizuishan area and Mengxi area, North China region and Tianjin Port. This line will become a convenient link connecting Baolan Railway (Baotou-Lanzhou) and East Wuzhou Railway, and a new link for passenger and cargo exchanges between Ningxia and Mengxi and North China. A schematic map of the location of the region is shown in Figure 1.

At present, Shizuishan, as one of the ten major coal industrial bases and an important layout point of the "third line" construction during the national "First Five-Year Plan" period, is the "cradle" of Ningxia's industry. It has abundant power resources and a total installed capacity of 4.43 million kW. There are three development zones at present: Shizuishan High-tech Industrial Development Zone (national level), Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Ningxia Pingluo Industrial Park.

In recent years, the government has taken industrial transformation and upgrading and structural adjustment as the main direction of transformation and development, and vigorously developed nine key industries, including electronic information, new materials, green food, clean energy, wine, goji berries, dairy industry, beef and sheep, and ecological industrial cultural tourism, so as to comprehensively shape new advantages for development; Strive to promote the upgrading of advanced manufacturing industry, as well as the quality improvement and development of high-efficiency planting and breeding industry, build a national agricultural science and technology park, build a modern agricultural demonstration base in Hedong, and launch the regional public brand of "Zhenselenium Shizuishan".

With the continuous development of the economy and the rapid growth of the freight volume of the whole society, the freight volume of the whole society in the comprehensive analysis and research area will continue to maintain rapid growth, and it is expected that the freight volume of the whole society in Shizuishan City will reach 70.45 million tons and 84.54 million tons in the near term (2035) and in the long term (2045) respectively.

From the perspective of satisfying the long-term development of the connection line between East Ukraine Railway and Huinong Station, in line with the principle of moderately improving the construction of roadbed, bridges and other infrastructure, and reasonably connecting the relationship with railway transportation channels, the main technical standards recommended for the connection line between East Ukraine Railway and Huinong Station are: the railway grade is Class II.; The number of positive lines is single; The design speed is 80km/h; The minimum curve radius is 600m under normal conditions and 500m under difficult conditions; Limit slope 6‰ in the direction of heavy vehicles and 13‰ in the direction of light vehicles; The traction type is electricity; The locomotive type is SS series, gradually transitioning to HXD series; The traction quality is 5000t in the downward direction and 2500t in the upward direction; The effective length to the hair line is 1050m; The occlusion method is semi-automatic occlusion.

Combined with the main technical standards of the above-mentioned railway, the relationship between the connecting line between East Ukraine Railway and Huinong Station and the adjacent railways of Wuhai City and Shizuishan City is deeply studied, and the transportation needs of economic bases along the line are fully considered, and the connection plan, station layout and line direction scheme of the East Ukraine Railway to Huinong Station connection line are finally determined.

2 Railway plan of the link line from East Ukraine Railway to Huinong Station

The site of the East Ukraine Railway to Huinong Station is located in Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and the project functions to transfer coal from Ordos City to Shizuishan City, and undertake the transportation of mining areas, chemicals and other materials. Within the scope of study, there are Baolan Railway, Haigong Railway (Wuhai-Gongwusu), Huanggong Railway (Huangbaici-Gongwusu) and Dongwu Railway, and the Baoyin High-speed Railway (Baotou-Yinchuan) is under construction.

According to the cargo flow and the layout of surrounding stations, the connecting stations of this project focused on the Huanggong Railway Lasengmiao Station and the Qipanjing Station of the Dongwu Railway, and the scheme of using the existing Huanggong Railway and Baolan Railway, and the Gongwusu Station of Huanggong Railway were demonstrated. Considering the distribution of the railway network around Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, there are two options for the connection and direction scheme of the connecting line between East Wu Railway and Huinong Station, namely, the connection plan of Qipanjing Station of East Wuzhou Railway and the connection scheme of Huanggong Railway Lasengmiao Station. The schematic diagram of the connection and direction scheme of the connecting line from East Ukraine Railway to Huinong Station is shown in Figure 2.

2.1 Traffic Forecasting

According to the development status of Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, on the basis of the existing railway network in the area, combined with the national "Medium and Long-term Railway Network Plan", and considering the comprehensive transportation planning of Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, the traffic volume of the East Wuhan Railway to Huinong Station is predicted as follows.

According to the comparison of paths and the functional division of regional road network channels, the liaison line between East Ukraine Railway and Huinong Station is mainly responsible for transporting coal to Shizuishan along the East Wu Line and Ordos area, taking into account the cargo exchange between some Shizuishan, Mengxi, North China and Tianjin Port; It mainly serves Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone and surrounding enterprises, while taking into account the transportation needs of other parks and enterprises in Shizuishan City. It is predicted that the recent freight flow in the section from Qipanjing Station to Coal Exchange Center Station of East Ukraine Railway will be 4.46 million tons in the downward direction and 7.81 million tons in the upward direction. The downward direction of the far futures flow is 5.54 million tons, and the upward direction is 10.38 million tons.

2.2 Transportation organization and number of train logarithms

Combined with the functional positioning, transportation demand, construction plan and existing wired transportation organization scheme of the liaison line from East Ukraine Railway to Huinong Station, the use of driving mode can reduce the workload and pick-up and delivery operation of the connecting station, reduce the parking frequency of the connecting station, simplify the operation links, and improve the transportation efficiency. It is predicted that the number of pairs of trains in the section from Qipanjing Station to Coal Exchange Center Station of East Ukraine Railway is 6 pairs/d, and the number of long-term trains is 6 pairs/d.

2.3 Scenario analysis

According to the nature of the proposed railway, the connection conditions and the overall planning of Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, the most reasonable engineering scheme was found after comprehensive analysis and comparison of the connecting stations with connecting conditions and the difficulty of renovation in the area, and then combined with the macro trend of the line between the connecting station and Shizuishan City, the economic bases along the line and the capacity of the existing railway rear passage.

2.3.1 East Ukraine Railway Qipanjing Station Connection Scheme (Scheme I.)

(1) Line scheme

The line leads from the north throat of the Qipanjing Station of the East Ukraine Railway, and then runs about 8km on the right side of the existing East Ukraine Railway after exiting, and then crosses the G109 connecting line, Haigong Railway, Rongwu Expressway and the Yellow River to the west, and enters the territory of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the line continues to the west to cross G110, the planned Baoyin high-speed railway, and then turns south to cross Wicker Gou and finally set up a coal trading center station at the end of the line. The length of the main line is 28.37km, and there are 2 stations on the line, including 1 expansion station (Qipanjing Station) and 1 new station (Coal Exchange Center Station).

(2) Station plan

(1) The existing overview of the checkerboard well station

Qipanjing Station is the middle station of the East Ukraine Railway, the central mileage of the station is K305+040.46, and the station building is located on the right side of the line. The station to the departure yard, the shunting yard and the loading and unloading yard are arranged horizontally from east to west, and there are 6 departure lines (including 1 main line) to the departure yard, and the effective length meets 1050m; There are 3 shunting lines in the shunting yard, which can be transferred to the departure site through the pull-out line in the throat area of Dongshengduan on the opposite side of the station building; The loading and unloading yard is set up with 3 starting lines and loading and unloading lines, which can meet the conditions of the whole train of hair extension and loading. 1 organic section in Wuhaiduan throat area opposite the station building; On the same side of the station building, there is 1 catenary work area and 1 freight yard in the throat area of Dongshengduan on the same side of the station building. In addition, the special line of the Erong Power Plant connects from the Wuhai end on the same side of the station building and runs through with (1).

(2) Reconstruction plan of Qipan Well Station

This line is introduced from the Wuhai end throat area on the same side of the station building of Qipanjing Station, using the special line of Erong Power Plant to connect with the existing (1) road, and also build a special line for Erong Power Plant outside, connect to the main line in the station, set up 1 safety line at the connection point, with an effective length of 50m, add 1 starting line on the same side of the station building of Qipanjing Station, with an effective length of 1050m, and also build 1 basic platform (350m×8m×0.3m), and the throat area at both ends of the station is adaptable. (3) Transportation organization form

(1) Qipanjing - Coal Trading Center Station. The train runs from Haoler to Qipanjing Station via the East Ukraine Railway, and then directly transported to the Coal Exchange Center Station, where there is no need to change locomotive and vehicle handover operations.

(2) Coal Trading Center Station - Chessboard Well. The train departs from the Coal Exchange Center Station, passes through the main line to Qipanjing Station, and then uses the East Ukraine Railway to transport to Haole Baoji far, and there is no need to change locomotive and vehicle handover operations at Qipanjing Station.

2.3.2 Haigong Railway Lasangmiao Station Connection Plan (Option II.)

(1) Line scheme

The line from Qipanjing Station of East Wuzhou Railway uses the existing railway to Lasengmiao Station, and then the new line leads from the north throat of Lasangmiao Station of Haigong Railway, and after exiting, the line turns southwest with a curve radius of 500m, crosses the provincial highway 207, Rongwu Expressway and the Yellow River, and enters the territory of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the line continues to the west to the cross-border highway 110, passes through the planned Baoyin high-speed railway, and then turns south to cross the wicker ditch and ends at the end of the line to set up the coal trading center station. The total length of the line of this scheme is 31.76km, of which the length of the new line is 13.43km, and the existing cable is 18.33km. There are 2 stations on the line, including 1 expansion station (Lamongmiao Station) and 1 new station (Coal Exchange Center Station).

(2) Station plan

(1) The existing overview of the Lama Sanghao Station

Lasangmiao Station is the intermediate station of Haigong Railway, the central mileage of the station is K44+096, and the station building is located on the left side of the line. The station has 5 departure lines (including 1 main line), the effective length meets 1050m, there is 1 horizontal arrangement yard on the opposite side of the station building, 1 loading and unloading line, and 1 loading and unloading platform (200m×20m×1.1m). There is 1 freight yard at the end of Gongwusu on the same side of the station building, and 1 pull-out line on the opposite side of the station building, with an effective length of 300m.

(2) Reconstruction plan of La Sangmiao Station

This line is introduced from the throat area of Wuhai Duan on the opposite side of the station building of La Sangmiao Station, and runs through the existing (4) road, using the existing cargo line line position to add 1 departure line, with an effective length of 1050m, and 1 cargo line is also built outside, and equipped with 1 loading and unloading platform (200m×20m×1.1m), due to the reconstruction of the throat area, occupying the effective length of the pull-out line, for this reason, extend the existing pull-out line to the south to ensure the effective length of 300m. (3) Reconstruction plan of Qipanjing Station. Because the transportation path of this line needs to use the existing Haigong Railway Gongwusu to Lasanmiao section, this section belongs to China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., Ltd., East Ukraine railway locomotives and vehicles need to be handed over at Qipanjing Station, for this reason, Qipanjing Station needs to set up a handover field, according to the workload of the existing station of Qipanjing Station, and considering that due to the existing conditions of the station, the opposite side of the station building does not have the conditions for setting the handover field, this study adds 1 new line on the same side of the station building, the effective length is 1050m, and the throat area at both ends is transformed accordingly. A schematic diagram of the reconstruction plan of the Qipangjing station is shown in Figure 5.

(3) Transportation organization form

(1) Lama Sangha Temple - Coal Trading Center Station. The train runs from Haole to Qipanjing Station through the East Ukraine Railway, carries out vehicle handover operations at Qipanjing Station, changes the national railway locomotive and replenishes the machine at the same time, and is pulled to the Coal Trading Center Station of this line through the double machine of the Huanggong Railway.

(2) Coal Trading Center Station - La Monk Temple. The train departs from the Coal Exchange Center Station, and is pulled by double machine through the Huanggong Railway Lasengmiao Station to the Qipanjing Station of the Dongwu Line, and the vehicle handover operation is carried out at the Qipanjing Station, and the locomotive of the Dongwu Railway is changed, and then transported to Haole Baoji through the Dongwu Railway.

2.4 Program Comparison

From the perspectives of rationality of the layout of the existing railway network in Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, line length, rationality of transportation organization, convenience of operation and management, and engineering investment, the advantages and disadvantages of the two comparative schemes were analyzed and compared, and the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the schemes is shown in Table 1.

Comprehensive analysis, although the length of the line is long and the project investment is large, the line can be entrusted to Inner Mongolia East Ukraine Railway Co., Ltd. to operate, without the need to hand over the vehicles with the national railway, the operation and management interface is clearly divided, and there is no need to change locomotive at the Qipanjing station, the transportation work is convenient to organize, and the reconstruction project of the existing railway station is small. To this end, this study recommends Scheme I.: Connecting Scheme of Qipanjing Station of East Ukraine Railway.

3 Concluding remarks

The construction of the link between the East Ukraine Railway and Huinong Station is necessary to implement the relevant planning of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, promote the adjustment of transportation structure, and achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality"; It is necessary to win the battle for blue skies and implement the ecological protection and high-quality development strategy of the Yellow River Basin; It is to improve the external transportation channel of Shizuishan, meet the needs of cargo transportation, and drive the needs of regional economic development; It is the need to reduce the transportation cost of enterprises in Shizuishan City, realize logistics cost reduction and increase efficiency, and improve the market competitiveness and economic benefits of enterprises.

Combined with the functional positioning and regional development planning of the existing railway network in Shizuishan City and Wuhai City, the engineering scheme of the connection line between East Wuhan Railway and Huinong Station was studied, the connection plan of Qipanjing Station of East Wuzhou Railway and the connection plan and line direction scheme of Huanggong Railway Lasengmiao Station were compared, and the station transformation mode, line direction, impact on existing railway, transportation organization, rear passage research and engineering investment of various access schemes were studied, and finally the connection scheme of Qipanjing Station of East Wuzhou Railway was the most reasonable. It can provide reference for the route selection design of similar freight railways in China.
