In Fuyuan, Heilongjiang, the first (Sino-Russian) Whitewater Throwing Fishing Competition in Fuyuan, Heilongjiang in 2023 attracted many tourists to swing their rods to compete, and with the referee's order, hundreds of rods were fired in unison, and countless splashes appeared on the calm surface of the Heilongjiang River. The competition attracted teams from 30 different cities, including Beijing and Khabarovsk, Russia. Located in the triangle where the Heilongjiang River and the Ussuri River meet, Fuyuan City gathers hundreds of species of fish, relying on favorable resources to integrate the market, allowing visitors not only to experience the excitement of the event, but also to understand the local natural customs. In the first half of this year, Fuyuan received 778,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%.
In Tongren Wanshan District, Guizhou, the former mines and old houses have been transformed into research bases, attracting many tourists to experience. The former "second generation of mines" and "third generation of mines" also returned to their hometowns to eat tourist meals.
Due to resource depletion, the mercury mine went bankrupt in 2001, and Wanshan lost a major economic pillar. In 2009, Wanshan was included in the second batch of resource-depleted urban policy support areas in China.
