Zhao Dan, female, doctor of criminal law from Jilin University, worked in the Yuhong District Court of Shenyang City for seven years, hearing more than 1,000 criminal cases of various kinds. In 2012, he was transferred to the Liaoning Provincial High People's Court to hear major criminal cases such as intentional homicide, robbery, and narcotics, and after serving as vice president, he was specifically responsible for the trial and guidance of major cases such as job-related crimes, foreign-related crimes, economic crimes, and national security crimes in the province.

Zhao Dan has undertaken a number of major sensitive and complicated cases, including the Dandong Wang Changping drug case, and the Yingkou Li Xuyi robbery of a cash truck.

What impressed Zhao Dan deeply was the case of Li Xuyi robbing a cash truck.

On the morning of September 7, 2016, Li Xuyi drove a cash truck, accompanied by escorts Song X and Liu X, and took the cashiers Xi X and Bai X to a bank Yingkou branch on the way back to unblock the money, Li Xuyi used a gun-shaped object prepared in advance to threaten Song X and others, robbed 6 million yuan and fled the scene. That night, investigators searched Li Xuyi's home and arrested Li Xuyi, who was hiding in his home.

Sentencing must first be legal, and at the same time, the results of the treatment must be recognized by the public and can play a role in guiding public values. The robbery of the cash truck can be sentenced to life imprisonment or death, but considering Li Xuyi's motives, no personal injury was caused in the process of committing the crime, the stolen money was fully recovered in a short period of time, and the circumstances such as admitting guilt and repenting of guilt were finally determined that Li Xuyi was sentenced to fifteen years in prison; this is also a warning to everyone that no matter what the motive, it cannot be achieved by illegal means. Zhao Dan said.

As a female judge in the criminal court, Zhao Dan said that from the perspective of gender, it will be more delicate and has no impact on the trial work. But as a mother, Zhao Dan believes that she owes a lot to her own children.
