Solar Bay is used to test ray-traced graphics performance on Windows PCs and high-end Android devices. This benchmark measures game-related graphics performance by rendering demanding ray-traced scenes in real time.

Solar Bay is now available for Android on the Google Play Store and Windows on Steam, Epic Games, or directly from UL Solutions (IT House Note: Android is free).

This benchmark is divided into three phases, each with a linear 100% increase in ray tracing effort. UL Benchmarks officially said the test is designed to demonstrate "the capabilities of the device, such as performance in a short period of time." UL claims that this is to mimic mobile games, which are "a series of ephemeral activities" that test the device's ability to deliver instant performance in a short period of time.

According to the test of foreign media VideoCardz, the comparison test of NVIDIA RTX 4090 high-end graphics card and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra high-end mobile phone, the former has reached 24.5 times the latter's running score.
