Just now, Twitter blogger @BwE_Dev exposed the shell of the rumored Slim version of the device in the form of a video.
As can be seen from the video, compared to the PS4 Slim, or even the PS3 Slim, this device has not changed much in appearance, similar to the original, and has the PS5's iconic white stand collar.
The only obvious design change may be the black line in the middle of its waist, that is, the one-piece shell is divided into two pieces. Although this change may seem difficult to understand at first glance, it is very easy to understand when analyzed in conjunction with the characteristics of modular optical drives. Of course, @BwE_Dev does not show this feature in the video, but I personally guess that all four shells can be removed, and if you don't install an optical drive, the machine will look like the digital version of the original PS5.
In addition, in this video, we can also see that the front panel of the new PS5 is two USB Type-C ports, instead of the original USB Type-A and Type-C. The I/O connector on the back is not shown in the video, so it's unclear if Sony will modify it.
In the tweet, @BwE_Dev said it was a shell for the CFI-2016 PS5. Incidentally, the PS5 models sold today are CFI-1200, and earlier versions include CFI-1100 and CFI-1200. As for the official naming of the device, it may have to wait for Sony's official announcement, but according to this revelation video, how to see this machine should not be called PS5 Slim.
