The impression of Fanjing Mountain, I knew it a long time ago, I remember the first time I went to Fanjing, in 1991, as a cadre of the Communist Youth League to carry out activities to Tongren, and took this to go up the mountain, then entered through the gate, was carrying a full walk, after a few hours to the copper mine area, just in the simple stop reception shop house to live, planning to prepare to go up the mountain again the next morning, just because of youth and vigor, although very tired, or climbed to the top of the mountain, the price paid is that the calf at the foot of the mountain is sore and makes people shiver. Although I also used a film camera and saw butterflies flying in the streams by the mountains, I didn't take them as subjects.
After 26 years, I and my friends from the mouth of the river and the Indo River to Fanjing Mountain, counted 5 times, later missions, which have included the attention and shooting of butterfly resources.

Fanjing Mountain belongs to the northeast region of Guizhou where butterflies are distributed. Fanjingshan Nature Reserve is located at the junction of Jiangkou, Yinjiang and Songtao counties in Tongren District, northeast Qiandong, with a total area of 41,900 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 90%. Fanjingshan Nature Reserve was founded in 1978 and was accepted by UNESCO as a member of the International Network of Protected Areas of Man and the Biosphere in October 1986. Guizhou butterfly resources including Fanjing Mountain, I have spent more than 20 years, almost all of my spare time to investigate and shoot butterflies, at the end of last year, the first time to record the total number of butterflies as the goal of the large-scale popular science atlas "Guizhou Butterfly", the preliminary statistics of the total number of butterflies in 683 species, most of the book is my shooting, there are also a small number of my Guizhou butterfly friends to provide, a total of 493 kinds of Guizhou butterfly pictures, shooting locations and identification text, which also includes the more unique butterflies I shot in Fanjing Mountain, For example, spotted leopard butterfly, Xiaomei big butterfly, Emei butterfly, green butterfly and so on.

On September 20 this year, I had the honor to participate in the scientific expedition of Fanjing Mountain, before going I set a goal for myself, and strived to record more butterflies, in a limited and hasty 3 days, or on the way to the expedition, I encountered a total of 43 species of Fanjingshan butterflies, 38 species were photographed with the lens, and 5 kinds of butterflies were seen but not photographed, they were golden-spotted butterflies (or butterflies with six points), proud white butterflies, green butterflies, jade spotted butterflies and a butterfly species that had never been seen before, flying out of the woods to the river, slowly flying in the air three times and disappearing, It is in the form of a small and medium-sized white deep color edge pattern, like a butterfly or butterfly, or it may be a pink butterfly, where I waited for it to appear, spent nearly 5 hours, and finally did not come out again, for this self-comfort, regret is also a kind of beauty, but also tempted me to have the opportunity to look for it again.
Fanjing Mountain
As the saying goes: how high the mountain is, how long is the water. I said: How tall are the leaves, the butterflies can wait. When climbing the top of Fanjing Mountain, it is rare to encounter a kind of "guy" called the purple thread butterfly, characteristically, without special terms, from the external feature observation, it is the earth yellow bottom front and back wings, there are eye-like spots and purple ripples composed of patterns, check its archives, this butterfly species only occurs one generation a year, living in the forest at an altitude of 1300-1600 meters. Adults occur from late June to late July. The larvae host is the cold arrow bamboo of the grass family, and the adults do not visit flowers and like to suck the sap of trees. The flight path is changeable and often moves in the bamboo forest. Today, however, it is encountered at an altitude of about 2200 meters above sea level.

A few days of shooting, but also encountered interesting things, in the Manger River near a farmhouse, early in the morning encountered some with the sun "happy" flying butterflies, including fragmented green phoenix butterflies, broadband phoenix butterflies, etc., the impression of "flowers lead butterflies, butterflies love flowers", mainly refers to large butterfly butterflies, this butterfly especially likes flowers and sucks, is a gentleman in the flower, beautiful posture, fascinating, ancient and modern people, like to phoenix butterflies, butterflies as objects of artistic creation.

However, today's fragmented green phoenix butterfly, but a "dung green", not "angry green", but also "spray green" (spray, Mandarin pronunciation pen, the first sound, Guiyang dialect pronunciation fen, the fourth sound, with the anger of the same sound), on the farm flower, it turned around a circle and "disappeared", next to the small flowers by the river, I waited for a while, think, can not stay, or go to the neighborhood to find, maybe see it.
Looking for a circle, still did not meet, I plan to go to the farmer's back slope and the mountain to inquire, just walked to the back of the house, saw a few pieces of soil on the slope, the soil was loosened by the farmer, suddenly a surprise, actually found that there are several kinds of butterflies on the dirt road, jade spotted butterfly, broadband phoenix butterfly, crescent moon butterfly and a small pink butterfly, Oh my God, in the small piece of soil that has just been fertilized by farm manure, two broken green phoenix butterflies are enjoying the "delicious" of human dung, too unexpected! I quietly approached, and then approached, and with a slightly larger movement, it spun in the air, turned in a small circle, and finally stopped again on the dung not far from me, and then looked for an opportunity to get closer, and finally succeeded. First observe how it sucks feces with its beak: but seeing that its wings are shaking lightly, sucking up the fecal soil while excreting a stream of liquid, this phenomenon, some butterflies will also stay in the wetland by the water edge to suck and excrete the same thing, which is a physiological phenomenon that some butterflies maintain body temperature balance and increase nutrient content in hot weather.

I didn't expect that at this time, the "dung green", that is, the broken spotted green butterfly that sucked dung flew on the flower again, sucking the pollen desperately, just when I held the mobile phone a finger away from it, it did not leave the attention of picking flowers.
There is also a straight-striped sleeve butterfly, it only collects a small red pollen in the bamboo forest that is only the height of a person's knee, this is the most tired butterfly shot in the expedition, this butterfly has a black background, the white spots in the forewings go straight to the leading edge, it is on the safflower, generally only stays for 1-2 seconds, and then immediately flies away from another flower, starts on the side of the road, intends to be close to the hand to shoot it, but it is like hide-and-seek, flying farther away from the roadside flowers, and deep in the bamboo forest, I wanted to step into it, suddenly remembered the words of the expedition leader and the leader of the regiment, and told me to be careful, there will be snakes in the grass In particular, the five-step snake of Fanjing Mountain is said to have its presence on the mountain at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters, not to mention on the side of the road not far from the riverbed.
