Ms. Sa told reporters that on the morning of August 22, when she opened the store, she found several small bugs that looked like caterpillars on the floor in front of the store, and she did not take it seriously, and took the insecticide to eliminate all the bugs.

As a result, when Ms. Sa opened the door again the next morning, she was shocked by the scene in front of her: the entire sidewalk was full of these small bugs, and even the road was crawling a lot. She immediately reported the situation to the garden department.
Ms. Sa: "In the afternoon, the garden department took medicine to spray, and all of a sudden the insects in the trunk and roots of the tree died." As a result, at 7 o'clock in the evening, we saw small bugs crawling on the trunk of the tree, and there was no poisoning when we looked at it. ”

In Ms. Sa's memory, the tree at the door had never seen such a phenomenon, and she and the surrounding shops and community workers did not know where the bugs came from for half a day, so they had to report the situation to the garden department, but it seemed that it could not be completely solved.
Ms. Sa: "If you can't find the root cause, you can rely on medicine to cure the symptoms and not the root cause, kill a batch, and the new bugs will still crawl everywhere." Customers don't dare to go near it, it must have an impact on the business of our store, and I want to know what the reason is. ”

At the end of their age, this larvae will migrate from the tree to the ground in large numbers and pupate into the soil, so that a whole layer of white silk mesh will be formed on the epidermis of the tree. In addition, less than 500 meters away from here, on Baima North Road, the reporter also found a more severe alpine banyan tree, and found an adult insect that had feathered on the surface of the tree - a moth with golden and white wings. After the identification of Mr. Aben, this moth is called the round-spotted yellow-edged grass borer, which is a harmful lepidoptera borer moth.
Teacher Aben said that the larvae of the round-spotted yellow-edged grass borer are not toxic and harmless to people, but the number of outbreaks is huge, which affects the surrounding shops to a certain extent, and this situation will continue for several days, but the surrounding residents do not have to panic.
Mr. Aben: "We have observed that there are already yellow-waisted wasps, ants, dragonflies, some birds and geckos preying on their adults and larvae. If the surrounding environment is good, the food chain is relatively complete, and even if the larva breaks out, other animals will control it, and after a period of time, its number will return to normal levels. ”

In comparison, what worries Mr. Aben even more is that this huge outbreak of insect swarms will bring spread and harm more alpine banyans in the surrounding areas.
