From July 22 to 23, the 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (CICAI 2023) hosted by the Chinese Institute of Engineering Intelligence was successfully held in Fuzhou. This conference was jointly held with the 2023 Chinese Industrial Intelligence Conference, with strong integration of academic and industrial ecology, and continuous upgrading of influence and attention.
This year's conference continued the classic and innovative, holding a total of 8 keynote speeches, 4 thematic workshops, 13 oral reports of excellent papers and a number of awards selection activities. At the same time, the conference cooperated with the GigaVision Challenge for the first time to issue three major visual intelligence tasks, attracting global AI enthusiasts to continue to innovate challenges with high prizes. Demo display and poster display were also carried out at the conference site. The rich activities provided participants with a colorful and fulfilling feast of AI technology. The conference attracted more than 5 million viewers through the live broadcast platform.
Fang Lu, chairman of the conference and associate professor of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech at the opening of the conference. Ms. Fang Lu said that the CICAI conference is the third session this year, although it is beginning to have an impact, it is still in the growth stage, and the future has a long way to go. On the basis of "professional and refined", the conference will continue to develop and expand in the direction of "big and strong", becoming one of the top academic conferences with global popularity and international appeal, and making new and greater contributions to promoting the healthy development of a new generation of artificial intelligence in the mainland.

CICAI 2023 is chaired by 3 well-known scholars, more than 20 well-known experts and hundreds of AI peers from all over the country gathered in Rongcheng to discuss the cutting-edge technology and development direction of AI.
As a major event of the conference, academicians Dai Qionghai and Chai Tianyou of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Josef Kittler, academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Professor Zheng Qinghua, president of Tongji University, academician Zhou Chenghu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician Zhou Zhihua of the European Academy of Sciences, academician Marios M. Polycarpou of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, academician Liu Xuesong of the Russian Academy of Engineering and other heavyweight guests delivered keynote speeches, carried out exchanges and collisions, and jointly created an academic feast in the field of artificial intelligence.
In addition to the keynote speeches, the conference also opened four cutting-edge technical workshops: embodied intelligence, self-supervised large models, intelligent microscopy, brain-like computing, young scholars from well-known domestic universities and research institutions brought and shared the latest research results, and communicated with the audience.

The GigaVision Challenge was launched at the same time as the conference. The challenge focused on a new generation of artificial intelligence technology with multi-object complex relationships in megapixel scenes, and set up three major tracks: GigaDetection, GigaTrajectory and GigaReconstruction, attracting more than 300 people to sign up. The online TOP 3 teams of each track demonstrated their plans at the conference site, and the defense site discussed enthusiastically, and many excellent teams won applause at the scene through innovative solutions.

The conference received 376 valid paper submissions from all over the world, and 103 were finally recommended after comprehensive review by the committee, with an acceptance rate of 27%. Thirteen of the accepted papers were selected as oral presentations, and all oral presentation papers and some demos and posters were invited to the journal CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology (impact factor 7.985).
