Chelsea split with technical director Christopher Vivier seven months after he took office.
The German joined RB Leipzig in December as Cech's successor.
But after the club's restructuring in January, Vivier began reporting to co-sporting directors Lawrence Stewart and Paul Weinstanley.
Now, the 36-year-old has taken gardening leave and has no impact on the club's operations.
Since Graham Porter arrived at the club from Brighton during his tenure, Stewart and Winstanley have overseen the transfer campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino has called on Todd Boehly to bring in new players, despite the fact that the Americans have spent £600m in the last two windows.
