On July 16th, the Children's Branch of Yangpu District Library opened the "My Little Study" series of "Bailinger Bilingual Story House" English picture book guide activity, inviting children from the community to come to "swim the river" and enter the world of the picture book "Swimming the River with Uncle Gamber" together in the form of sound, shape and color.
"Swimming with Gamber" was created by John Birningham in England, telling the story of Gamber punting a boat to swim the river, and on the way, two children and some small animals asked to get on the boat. At first, it didn't get in the way, but later, these passengers forgot to follow the order and the rules of the boat...
In the activity, the teacher first threw out small questions and guided the children to discuss the fun of "swimming in the river" and the precautions to be observed... Everyone talked about their imagination of swimming in the river, or the experience of swimming with their parents. "You must wear a life jacket when riding the boat" "Mom and Dad will help me take pictures on the boat, it's fun"...
Afterwards, the teacher took everyone to read the picture book together. As the story progresses, the teacher tells this story about the "rules" in lively and novel language.
In the picture book performance session, the children put on the hoods of the characters and small animals in the picture book, immersed themselves in the characters, experienced the joys, sorrows and sorrows of "Uncle Gambo", and understood the importance of "rules" to life.
