Christian Christian Pulisic has officially signed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri after moving from Chelsea to AC Milan for around $24 million. With his transfer complete, we can now predict AC Milan's starting line-up for the 2023-24 season.
Milan coach Stefano Pioli said that for Christian Pulisic's position, Pioli plans to have the American star play as an attacking midfielder in the No.10 position, rather than a winger, which is not the same as Pulisic's position at Chelsea.
Pioli wants to unleash Christian Pulisic's potential and wants to use him as a No.10, although Christian is rarely trusted by Chelsea and former club Borussia Dortmund.
In the summer transfer window, Milan bid farewell to midfielder Sandro Tonali. Premier League side Newcastle reportedly paid him around $76 million. The deal gives Milan the funds to make some player transfers in this window.
One of the big transfers could be another American, Florin Balogon. Imagine if Christian Pulisic could work with his former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and his new US international team-mate Balogon.
To the left of Christian Pulisic is Milan's dangerous figure Rafael Leo. The 24-year-old Portuguese winger excelled last season, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists. He and Christian Pulisic can be an intimidating midfield duo.
The right wing remains a question mark for Milan at the moment. The club are eyeing Villarreal's genius Samuel Chukvitzze, but negotiations have stalled for the time being due to a €10 million gap between offer and demand. Milan's current replacement target is 22-year-old Danish winger Gustav Isaksen. Isaksen scored 22 goals and provided nine assists for Midtjylland last season.
Pulisic will be another former Chelsea team-mate in midfield, Ruben Ruben Loftus-Cheek. U.S. national team midfielder Yunus Moussah has been rumoured to join Milan, but Fulham seems ready to snatch him away. Midfielder Rad Krunic is also among the best. Next season will be his fifth at Milan.
The back line, unchanged from last season, is made up of the likes of Leo Hernández, Fikayo Tomori, Malik Tio and captain Calabria.
Goalkeeper Menion made 29 appearances last season, conceding 10 without conceding.
