Aston Villa's bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby was threatened by the interest of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nasr
Al Nasr is threatening Aston Villa's offer to Bayer Leverkusen winger Musa Diaby.
Villa have Rennes winger Jeremy Doku as another option.
Emery's side made a £30 million offer for Diaby, but it was rejected by Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen is believed to value the France international at £50 million.
Villa first saw Diaby as a potential alternative to Cliff Grealish following his move to Manchester City in 2021, which Villa has made a priority in recent weeks.
They now face competition from Al Nasr, who wants to include Diaby in an attack that already includes Cristiano Ronaldo.
Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is one of Al-Nassr's other well-known players.
Diaby began his career with Paris Saint-Germain, where he made 34 appearances and scored four goals. He was also loaned to Crotone.
Diaby joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2019 and has made 172 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 49 goals and providing 48 assists.
Belgium international Doku has been with Rennes since joining Rennes from Anderlecht in 2020.
