A green, smart, dynamic and shared Universiade is waiting to start

The opening of the Chengdu Universiade is just around the corner, and a reporter from China Youth Daily recently visited the Universiade Village and a number of venues in Chengdu. The reporter saw in the interview that the Chengdu Universiade with the concept of green, wisdom, vitality and sharing has embodied this concept in every detail, and I believe that college athletes from all over the world will be impressed by this Universiade when they meet in Chengdu in the near future.

The Athletes' Village (Universiade Village) of the Chengdu Universiade is located in Chengdu University, where 10 apartment buildings, two restaurants, medical center, fitness center, administrative security center, service center, business center, cultural market, exhibition center and other facilities will provide accommodation, catering, medical treatment, fitness, leisure, cultural exchange and other security services for delegations participating in the Chengdu Universiade. Technology and green elements can be found almost everywhere in the Universiade Village.

From the moment you enter the Welcome Center in Dayun Village, the automatic coffee brewing robot is eye-catching. After giving instructions to the robot, simply wait a few moments for a cup of coffee brewed according to personal taste preferences to be delivered to the guest. Then, at the service desk of the Welcome Center, all athletes and delegation members can communicate with the service staff using the intelligent translation intercom device. This set of intelligent translation intercom equipment also has a portable version for all participants, the equipment supports real-time translation in more than 80 languages, allowing participants to truly enjoy barrier-free communication in Chengdu. Continue into the Universiade Village from the Welcome Center, and the self-driving buses running on the roads in the village will surely attract people's attention. The self-driving bus that can be used by participants represents China's latest technological achievements in the field of new energy vehicles. The self-driving bus runs smoothly and safely, and rides with a sense of technology. There are many new things in the Universiade Village that can arouse the interest of college athletes, such as 3D photography, in this 3D studio is not a flat photo, but a 3D real model about 20 cm high, the expressions of the subjects are restored very realistically; There are also cold-storage cooling vests - the "inner core" of the vest is made of a new material, which can bring the wearer two hours of coolness after freezing for half an hour, and will not produce condensation and will not wet the wearer's body and clothing.

There is also a building in the Universiade Village that interprets the concept of green and technology, that is, the delegation service center not far from the Welcome Center. This building, also known as "Cold Alley", is one of the supporting buildings of the Universiade and will be used as a cultural exchange center for teachers and students of Chengdu University after the Universiade.

The reason why it is called "cold alley" is because this building cleverly uses the natural wind direction of Chengdu, and applies the design principle of "venturi" (an architectural term, meaning that the building has a pair of trumpet-shaped air inlets and outlets, which can achieve the effect of accelerating the flow of wind speed in the passage of the building), so that people can get a cool and comfortable body feeling in the "cold alley". Zhong Peng, deputy chief architect of China Southwest Architecture Design and Research Institute and general manager of Chengdu Dayun Village Design, introduced that the location of "cold alley" is exactly on a slope six or seven meters high, and the slope steps can be well used to create a horn in the north and south directions, conforming to the wind direction from northeast to south prevailing in Chengdu throughout the year and introducing natural ventilation. After adopting the design of "Venturi", the annual energy saving of the entire building of "Cold Alley" can reach more than 30%. Zhong Peng believes that energy saving is only one aspect of the "cold alley" design idea, more importantly, this building will be used for a long time as a cultural exchange center for teachers and students of Chengdu University after the Universiade, and we also want to convey the concept that there is no need to add any additional equipment and consume additional energy, only with the help of natural forces to make the building obtain comfortable temperature and humidity, which is a better way to achieve sustainable development, and is also in line with the green concept advocated by the Chengdu Universiade.

Among the venues and facilities of the Chengdu Universiade, "cold alley" is not an isolated case. The gymnastics competition of Chengdu Dong'an Lake Sports Park, which will host the gymnastics competition of the Universiade, has a reputation for its own air conditioning. On a hot summer day, walking into this stadium feels cool. According to Huang Haizu, executive deputy director of the gymnastics venue center of Dong'an Lake Sports Park, on the day of the reporter's interview, the gymnasium did not use refrigeration and air conditioning, but only used a fresh air system, and the indoor temperature was still more than six or seven degrees Celsius lower than that outside. According to reports, the Dong'an Lake Sports Park Gymnasium is on the vent of blowing from Longquan Mountain to Chengdu City, and the rapid flow of air inside and outside the venue has achieved a cooling effect. In addition, the venue replaces cold air into the venue through a more scientific fresh air and air conditioning use mechanism (full use of the fresh air system in the morning. After the outdoor temperature rises during the day, gradually reduce the workload of the fresh air system, and then use air conditioning at the right time according to the needs of indoor temperature adjustment), so as to maximize the energy-saving effect of the venue.

The concept of green environmental protection is also reflected in the accommodation services of Dayun Village. According to Dai Dayong, deputy manager of accommodation service in Chengdu Dayun Village, all toiletries provided by Dayun Village to delegations staying in the village are packed in large bottles and do not use disposable items; The washing machines equipped in the dormitory of the Universiade Village have also reached an agreement with the manufacturer to recycle and use after the Universiade. The facilities and equipment used in the entire Universiade Village adhere to the principle of being able to rent without buying, and can borrow without renting, and ensure that each resource is not wasted as much as possible.

In the interview, the reporter also found that the bottled water provided by the Universiade for athletes and all kinds of participants and service personnel is marked with personalized marks on the packaging, so as to reduce the waste of bottled water that is often abandoned in large-scale events after only a few sips.

At the same time, as a grand gathering of young people around the world through sports and considering the unique charm of Chinese culture in the minds of young people around the world, the Universiade has also promoted the Chengdu Universiade to strengthen cultural exchanges among young people from all countries and regions, especially in helping all participating athletes to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.

The Chengdu Universiade has set up exhibition centers, art centers, interactive experience centers and other facilities in the Universiade Village, through exhibitions of calligraphy and painting, photography, sculpture, artworks, as well as Hanfu, Shu embroidery, paper cutting, calligraphy, Chinese painting and other experiences, so as to facilitate all participants, especially athletes, to intuitively understand and feel Chinese culture. According to Ning Ke, manager of cultural and educational activities in Chengdu Dayun Village, "We have built a series of 2+3+3 cultural activities in Dayun Village. We are ready to organize 10 themed evenings and hold excellent film exhibitions at home and abroad. We have also arranged 9 Chinese intangible cultural heritage experience activities, 4 Chinese traditional culture experience projects, and Chinese language learning experience projects in the Universiade Village. There are also as many as 2,600 works of art embodying Chinese culture and sports elements in the relevant areas of the Universiade Village. In addition, Chengdu, as a famous Internet celebrity city in China, also shows its urban characteristics of 'Park City under Snowy Mountains, Happy Chengdu in Fireworks' through photography, calligraphy and painting in Dayun Village. Ning said that a consultant of the Chengdu Universiade commented that in terms of the overall arrangement of cultural and educational activities, the Chengdu Universiade has done so many projects and may also be the richest one in the previous Universiade.

The opening time of the Chengdu Universiade is getting closer and closer, and now walking on the streets of Chengdu, you can clearly feel the strong atmosphere of welcoming the Universiade. Chengdu is ready, and I hope that young people from all over the world will not only strive for their competitive dreams in Chengdu, but also let the experience of coming to this city leave a colorful page in life.
