Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking to sell four more first-team stars in a matter of days to kick off the new season.
Chelsea fans have seen a wave of stars leaving this summer. The most notable deal was the transfer of midfielder Mason Mount to Manchester United for an initial £55 million plus a £5 million surcharge.
In addition, German player Kai Havertz also signed Arsenal in June for £65 million, while US international Christian Christian Pulisic recently joined AC Milan for around £18 million, a deal that costs less than a third of the cost of Chelsea's bid to bring him in from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
The likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Abdelrahman Baba and N'Golo Kante have all left the club on free transfers, while City also signed Chelsea midfielder Matteo Kovacic last month.
In May, it was revealed that Pochettino was looking to sell 15 first-team players during the summer transfer period. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Chelsea boss had informed three players that they would not be playing in the team's pre-season. According to the London Evening Standard, Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Aubameyang are the players on this list.
The news also highlighted that Chelsea had asked the three players to join training on Monday but they were unable to join the Blues on tour at the end of the month. Romelu Lukaku is currently attracting Juventus' attention, while Ziyech and Aubameyang are likely to move to Saudi Arabia.
In addition to the above three stars, Pochettino's manager plans to have another first-team player, winger Hudson-Odoi. At the end of his loan deal, Hudson-Odoi returned to Chelsea and is ready to part ways with the team he has had a deep bond with since childhood. Everton, Fulham and Nottingham are the three teams interested in the 22-year-old.
According to British media reports, Pochettino hopes to address the future of the four players before the whole team travels to the United States for the summer tour.
