author:Firefire says a ball

Over the years, fans of the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have witnessed some of the world's best players, but some have arrived too late. Some players arrived in England past their best age. Here are some of the late arrivals who would regret they didn't move to the Premier League sooner.

George Weah

In 2000, he was loaned to Chelsea and was doing well, a player who won the Ballon d'Or five years earlier.

Kluivert

In the mid-to-late 90s, Kluivert's collaboration with Alan Shearer was an absolute dream for Newcastle fans. The two joined forces in the 2004–05 season and ended up finishing 14th, while the Dutchman left at the end of the season.

Davao Suker

Suker was Croatia's all-time top scorer and star player at the 1998 World Cup, having played for Sevilla FC and Real Madrid in La Liga before joining Arsenal in 1999. Suker entered the Premier League at the age of 30, having spent just one season at Highbury before spending an equally brief stint at West Ham United.

Yari Litmanen

Litmanen, one of Ajax's Champions League winners in the mid-90s, is remembered at Anfield but didn't move to England until the age of 30, and injuries meant he missed all three cup finals of the Reds' 2001 treble. In 2008, he returned to Fulham, but he did not play even once due to heart palpitations during training.

Gullit

Gullit didn't join Chelsea until he was 32, but that didn't stop him from finishing runners-up behind Eric Cantona in Footballer of the Year before leading the Blues to the FA Cup as a player-coach.

Fernando Hierro

Hierro is one of the greatest goal-scoring defenders who played for Bolton Wanderers alongside Yuri Djokaf. Unfortunately, the Spaniard has only had one chance to score in his only season in the Premier League.

Henrik Larson

The 35-year-old Larsson has only been at United for 10 weeks, but his brief time at Old Trafford was so impressive that there was a standing ovation in the dressing room after his last appearance.

Ibrahimovic

Ibrahimovic didn't move to the Premier League until he was 34 but still scored 28 goals in his debut season at Old Trafford, but ended early due to injury. That left him with just a few appearances the following season before being released and allowed a free transfer to the LA Galaxy, leaving us all wondering how well he would have been in England at his peak.

Edgar Davis

One of the most recognizable figures in world football, he joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2005 after dominating European midfielders for more than a decade. He did well in the Premier League, helping Tottenham to a fifth-place finish twice before returning to Ajax.

Esteban Cambiaso

After Cambiasso dropped his contract from Inter Milan in 2014, Leicester City signed him. He completed his only season in England as Leicester City's Player of the Year.

McConn

McConn made 76 appearances for Brazil, when he was still competing with Alves, McConn was the perfect modern full-back and integral part of Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan team, which won the treble in 2010. Unfortunately, after joining Manchester City at the age of 31, McCone lost the opportunity to replace Pablo Zabaleta or Mika Richards in Roberto Mancini's starting line-up due to injury, and he started just four times before returning to Serie A.

Yuri Djokaf

Djokaf won the World Cup and the European Championships. He won the UEFA Cup with Inter. He was named to the FIFA Team of the Year. At the age of 33, he signed for Bolton Wanderers. He was also very good, but at that time his body could not withstand that intensity every week.
