According to Dr. Zhao Yue of the Feline Research Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of Northeast Forestry University, the Siberian tiger shown in the video was taken in April this year, and after comparison, it was the "Wandalshan No. 1" released in the Mureng forest area before, from the picture, its fur is shiny, and it is much stronger than before.

In addition to the "Wandalshan No. 1", the staff also found two videos of two other infrared cameras, one large and one small, wandering freely through the forest, patrolling the territory and looking for food.

It is understood that this is not the first time that Siberian tigers and leopards have appeared in the Mureng forest area.

"In addition to the 'Wandarshan No. 1', two other tigers live here in the Mureng forest area, and we have repeatedly found their footprints and droppings. As early as 2016, we found a male Siberian leopard settled here, and in the winter of 2022, the infrared camera of the reserve captured the movement of a female Siberian leopard, and in April this year, a large and a small Siberian leopard were photographed in the same area. Their willingness to settle here indicates that it can provide them with a large amount of food, and also indirectly indicates that the food chain of the Mureng forest area is complete, the biodiversity is rich, and the ecological environment has been effectively restored. The staff of the reserve said excitedly.

At the same time, the staff also found through infrared cameras that wild animals such as roe deer, sika deer, and red deer inhabit and breed in the Mureng forest area, and the population is increasing. The return of a variety of herbivorous wild animals has also attracted large carnivores such as wild Siberian tigers and leopards to return to their homes. Nowadays, the ecological environment of the Mureng forest area is getting better and better, and it has gradually become a beautiful home for wild animals to breed and grow freely.
