As early as 2,000 years ago in the Western Han Dynasty, Jasmine came to Fuzhou via the Maritime Silk Road. Due to Fuzhou's unique geography and good climate, jasmine has since taken root in Fuzhou and has been widely planted. In Wushan, Fuzhou, the inscription "Tianxiangtai" of Fuzhou Taishou Cai Xiang during the Northern Song Dynasty is still preserved, and the "Tianxiang" here refers to jasmine.
In December 2011, Fuzhou was awarded the title of "Birthplace of World Jasmine Tea" by the International Tea Commission, in October 2012, Fuzhou Jasmine Tea was awarded the title of "World Famous Tea" by the International Tea Committee, and in April 2014, the Fuzhou Jasmine and Tea Culture System was included in the list of "Globally Important Agricultural Cultural Heritage" protection projects by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Fuzhou jasmine tea has become a world-renowned golden business card. Among them, Cangshan District is an important area for jasmine cultivation in Fuzhou, which has another name of "Qionghua Jade Island" because of the widespread cultivation of jasmine flowers. Moreover, Cangshan District is also one of the places with the highest concentration of jasmine tea enterprises in Fuzhou.
This event, with the theme of "Global Heritage World Flower Tea", aims to further excavate the cultural connotation of Fuzhou Jasmine Tea through various forms of expression, highlight the cultural characteristics of Fuzhou Jasmine Tea, promote the integration and development of Fuzhou Jasmine Tea industry and culture, prosper the tea industry, help rural revitalization, help the "Belt and Road", and help cultural self-confidence.
