Tianmu Mountain is the ashram of Veda Bodhisattva, and East Tianmu Mountain Zhaoming Temple is the place where Veda Bodhisattva should be transformed, and according to legend, Prince Zhaoming is the reincarnation of Veda Bodhisattva. Prince Zhaoming divided the Diamond Sutra into thirty-two products here, which is convenient for future generations to study. According to the "Records of Funing Fu": In the first year of Liang Datong (527) of the Southern Dynasty, Xiao Tong, the prince of Zhaoming, built a temple and gave it the title "Zhaoming Temple", which is the same person as Prince Zhaoming of Eastern Tianmu Mountain, with a history of more than 1,500 years.
Zhaoming Temple is located at the top of Aofeng Mountain in Fuding City, Fujian Province, about 3.5 kilometers west of the city. Surrounded by mountains, misty clouds and mist, beautiful as a fairyland. The Vajra Pagoda in the temple is towering, the temple is majestic, and the Sanskrit sound is surrounded by the mountaintop, a peaceful Buddhist holy realm.
The mountain gate of the temple is unique, it is a square gate, and a circular pattern is molded on the shadow wall on both sides, and there are many punchlines and links inscribed next to the temple gate, all of which are gold characters on a black background, does it mean the place of heaven round, nine chapters of the decree, the pen of hardware, and ten thousand ghosts are hidden. The elephant in front of the gate is also carrying the Devil Descent Pagoda.
The layout of the temple is simple and clear, and the main axis is: Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Treasure Hall, King Kong Pagoda and Tibetan Scripture Building. The temple is exquisite and rich in ancient charm, and the pagoda is majestic to complement feng shui. Looking at the beauty of the holy place, immersed in it, the Buddha-nature in the heart is awakened, and you begin to worship religiously.
The Heavenly King's Hall is a single-eaves hilltop, and the huge roof has high eaves, as if I want to fly. Dewa yellow wall hidden red doors and windows, bright and unassuming, calm and not dull, looking comfortable, bowing sincerely.
Inside the Heavenly King's Hall, the central Buddha shrine enshrines the statue of Maitreya Buddha, the golden body of the Dharma, and the cloth bag monk. Greet each other with a smile and feel happy, and be generous in tolerating past rights and wrongs. The two boxes are dedicated to the four heavenly kings, stepping on demons and monsters, and ghostly rays, and the hearts and demons of all living beings can be surrendered in front of the four heavenly kings, and the concept of meditation goes to worship the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
There is a three-story pavilion on the right side of the Tennoden Hall, which resembles a pagoda. The first floor is the ancestral hall, the second floor is the drum tower, and the third floor is the bell tower. Such a pattern has been seen in the Berlin Zen Temple in a thousand-year-old temple, the bell and drum tower is a one-piece building, and the first floor of that temple is the Dharma Protector Hall.
The second hall is the Daxiong Treasure Hall, with heavy eaves resting on the top of the mountain, Dewa yellow walls and red doors and windows, high cornices pointing to the sky, eight cornices under the carved beasts, the two ends of the ridge are not knots, but high dragon heads; Under the eaves of a heavy roof hangs a plaque of "Wande solemnity"; There are no sculptures of male lions or treasure elephants in front of the temple, and the lights shine brightly in the two lamp houses.
The Buddha niche in the main hall is exquisite, with dragon and phoenix dances and gold ornaments. The shrine enshrines the golden body of Shakyamuni Buddha, dressed in a right-hand tan robe, sitting on a lotus throne, with a hand knotted with a demon seal, with a compassionate and peaceful expression, and the Dharma phase is special and solemn. The two disciples of Anan and Kaye were also erected on both sides; Kaye is the first ancestor of Zen Buddhism, Buddha throws flowers, Kaye smiles, only with understanding, no need to say.
Behind the Daxiong Hall is the seven-level floating tower (King Kong Pagoda), which is 25.6 meters tall, with seven floors on five sides, imitation wood structure, pavilion-style hollow brick tower. There are escalators in the tower, and climbing to the top of the tower gives you a bird's eye view of Tongcheng, which is beautiful. The tower was built in the first year of Liang Datong and rebuilt again in 1982, with an antique and majestic tower, a tower on the top of a mountain, and the silhouette of the tower can be captured anywhere in the city.
Behind the pagoda is a newly built Tibetan scripture building, with heavy eaves resting on the top of the mountain, a three-story pavilion building, covered with yellow glazed tiles, dazzling, brilliant and magnificent, with a height of more than 17 meters, reflecting the King Kong Pagoda, setting off the temple beautiful, gorgeous and solemn.
There is also a gray two-story pavilion on the left side of the hall, which is the Zhaoming Cultural Research Association, and the first floor is dedicated to a jade Buddha.
Although Zhaoming Temple is small, it has a long history and rich Buddha charm, and there are also Shakyamuni Buddha relics from Sri Lanka, and there are many famous people who have visited it throughout the ages.
