Confirmed cases of monkeypox occurred in Tianjin, Changsha and Shenyang
On July 6, Tianjin detected and reported one suspected case of monkeypox virus infection through surveillance, which was tested by the laboratory of the municipal and district centers for disease control and prevention and reviewed by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the result was positive for monkeypox virus nucleic acid test. On July 7, after consultation by the national clinical expert group, it was diagnosed as a confirmed case of monkeypox virus infection. At present, the patient is undergoing isolation treatment in designated medical institutions and his condition is stable.
On 5 July 2023, 3 confirmed cases of monkeypox were detected in Changsha City, Hunan Province. The cases are a 24-year-old male, a 28-year-old man, and a 38-year-old man. After the case was discovered, the provincial, municipal, district (county) health departments and the CDC quickly carried out epidemiological investigation and medical treatment and other epidemic handling work. At present, 3 cases are isolated and treated in designated hospitals and their condition is stable.
On June 29, Shenyang City reported one suspected case of monkeypox virus infection, which was reviewed and the laboratory test result was positive for monkeypox virus nucleic acid test, and after consultation by a clinical expert group, it was diagnosed as a confirmed case of monkeypox virus infection on July 3. At present, the patient is undergoing isolation treatment in designated medical institutions and his condition is stable.
Previously, in the past June, monkeypox cases were also monitored in Beijing and Guangzhou on the mainland.
