On July 5, Beijing time, according to the official website of FIBA, China's three-man women's basketball team surpassed France in points and rose to the world's first. According to the rules, until November 1 this year, the top three teams in the world will go straight to the main competition of the Paris Olympic Games.
At the Netanya women's series on July 3-4, the Chinese women's team and Sichuan Yuanda finished second and fourth respectively. After adding the points obtained through this competition, the Chinese three-man women's basketball team successfully surpassed the French women's team with 1,830,974 points and rose to the first place in the world.
Before the start of the season, the Chinese three-man women's basketball team ranked fifth in the world. At the end of the season, the Chinese three-man women's team has achieved more than 1 million points through excellent performances in the women's series, World Cup, Asian Cup, National League and other competitions, completing the rapid climb in the points rankings.
Improving the world ranking is significant for qualifying for the Paris Olympics. According to the Paris Olympic qualification rules, the top three men's and women's teams in the statistical node (November 1, 2023) will directly qualify for the main event of the Paris Olympic Games. In other words, if the Chinese three-man women's basketball team can keep the top three before the deadline on November 1, it will successfully step on the three-man basketball court of the Paris Olympics.
