According to NBA "whistleblower" Shams Charania, Hawks All-Star Deontay Murray has confirmed a four-year, $120 million contract extension with the team.
The new contract will begin in 2024-25, with Murray's annual salary of $17.7 million next season.
Murray, already an All-Star guard, was traded by the Hawks from the Spurs last offseason for a high price, and last season averaged 20.5 points, 5.3 boards, 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game, still maintaining his all-round game characteristics.
But his All-Star combination with Trae Young wasn't a success, with the Hawks finishing seventh in the Eastern Conference with just 41-41. They were eliminated 4-2 in the first round of the playoffs. The only thing to be proud of is that they took out the Miami Heat 116-105 in the first game of the playoffs.
