Marvel Comics launches copycat Iron Man

Iron Man is one of the smartest and best mechanical heroes in the Marvel Universe, but Marvel Comics recently launched a copycat Iron Man who not only has Tony Stark's amazing IQ, but also easily creates an Iron Man armor with his household clutter, something Tony Stark has never done.

The origin of the copycat Iron Man

In the fourth issue of Avengers Forever, the Avengers meet a team calling themselves "copycat Avengers", a group of ordinary people who have acquired the same superpowers as the original Avengers through the abilities of an alien named Searle Senan. Ser Senan can give anyone near her superpowers, but she doesn't want to use this ability herself, nor does she want to have anything to do with the Avengers. However, the "copycat Avengers" manage to convince her to give them superpowers and intend to replace the original Avengers. One of the "copycat Iron Man" is the copycat Iron Man, who comes face to face with Tony Stark, proudly says that he has Tony Stark's intelligence, and uses random items it finds from his apartment to create a fully functional and powerful Iron Man armor.

"Do you know who I am? I am you. I am your level of intelligence. I am your only real opponent in this world. Copycat Iron Man said to Tony Stark.

Eternal Avengers is a Marvel Comics series written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Aaron Kuder, which tells the story of a group of Avenger members from different timelines and parallel universes who form a new team to stop a mysterious enemy called Dominatrices, who travel through time and space to carry out various wonderful adventures. The series began serialization in December 2021.

Comparison between Iron Man and Tony Stark

Tony Stark became Iron Man because he was captured in the war, and he used his talent to cobble together the first generation of Iron Man armor from the various munitions parts that the captors provided him. He escaped captivity and began his heroic career and formed the Avengers with other like-minded superheroes. However, the origin story of "Copycat Iron Man" is very similar to him, except that this new version of Iron Man does not make armor from munitions parts, but from household items. Even Tony Stark himself had to admit that it was powerful. However, what Tony Stark will not admit is that "Copycat Iron Man" made armor from household items, doing things he never achieved.

"What do you do it for? Your TV? Your microwave? Your hair dryer? Tony Stark asked the copycat Iron Man.

"Yes, yes, and yes. And my washing machine, my oven, my refrigerator, my air conditioner, my computer, my phone, my game console..." replied Iron Man.

Tony Stark, faced with a young man with an IQ and creative minds in engineering and mechanics, should have wanted to nurture his talent and give him the resources he needed to create something truly amazing. However, Tony Stark did not do this. He just knocked down the "copycat Iron Man" (literally and figuratively). This is interesting for the reaction to meeting someone with the same level of intelligence as himself, because not long ago, in Iron Man's own comic book series, he became a god-like being after bathing in the cosmic power of Galactus, and he used his god-level power to make all the people in the world as smart as him, thinking that this would solve all the world's problems in one fell swoop (he was wrong). However, when only one person stands in front of him, possesses his IQ, and has creative thinking about engineering and mechanics, one would think that Iron Man would want to nurture that person's talent and give him the resources he needs to create something truly amazing. However, Iron Man did not do this.

This applies not only to the "Copycat Iron Man", but also to the entire "Copycat Avengers" team. Everyone has the power of the primordial Avengers (cosmic power is an endless amount of energy from the origin of the universe that can give users various superpowers), they just lack their skills and experience. If the original Avengers stop fighting them and instead add them to the team, they will have almost identical replacements and double their strength. However, just like Iron Man, they all reject their own "replacements". However, unlike Iron Man, the rest of the "Copycat Avengers" did not surpass their original opponents, because the "Copycat Iron Man" in Marvel Comics was actually smarter than Tony Stark, creating a suit of armor in a way that Iron Man never did.

Copycat the future of Iron Man

The fourth issue of Eternal Avengers, published by Marvel Comics, is now available. Whether the copycat Iron Man will continue to appear in Marvel Comics, or whether it will only be a short-lived character, is still unknown. But, regardless, he has proven himself to be a character to watch and maybe one day, he will become a member of the true Avengers.
