The selection list of the open source summer 2023 event is officially released! After layers of review by tutors, the community and the organizing committee, a total of 504 students were successfully selected for this year's Open Source Summer activity project tasks, including 171 basic difficulty projects and 333 advanced difficulty projects. Over the next three months, they will officially embark on the open source summer project development journey under the guidance of community mentors. I look forward to students forging ahead on the road of open source, constantly challenging and creating more excellent results!

# Project development starts
From July 1, Open Source Summer 2023 will enter a three-month project task development period, and the selected students will complete the corresponding development tasks under the guidance of their mentors. Before officially starting the development work, students can communicate with the supervisor on the project task content and objectives, further improve the project planning, and make more adequate preparations for the development work. Students who have completed project development need to submit PR/MR to the project results repository before the end of project development (24:00 UTC+8 on September 30), upload the project closing report in the active system, fill in the PR/MR link, and the submitted PR/MR must be successfully merged by October 31.
The most important criterion for the final review is that the projects undertaken by students need to be submitted to the open source community repository where the project is located in the form of PR/MR and merged with each other.
Closing Review Time:
1. October 1 - October 31: Mentor finalization review, during which student developers can still refine the submitted PR/MR until merged.
2. November 1-November 8: The organizing committee will conclude the review.
3. Announcement time of the final project: November 9.

# Closing bonus
The total bonus of each project is divided into 12,000 yuan for advanced and 8,000 yuan for basic according to the difficulty of the project (the bonus amount is the amount of RMB before tax). Students who pass the final assessment will receive a bonus, and if the final assessment is not passed, the bonus will not be paid. Students who pass the final evaluation will also receive a final certificate issued by the organizing committee and have the opportunity to participate in the annual outstanding student selection.

# About the Summer of Open Source
"Open Source Summer (OSPP)" is a series of summer activities under the guidance of the "Open Source Software Supply Chain Lighting Program" of the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, co-hosted by the Institute of Software and the openEuler community and organized by Nanjing Institute of Software Technology of China Science and Technology, aiming to encourage students to actively participate in the development and maintenance of open source software, cultivate and discover more outstanding developers, promote the vigorous development of excellent open source software communities, and help the construction of open source software supply chain.
The event unites major open source communities to provide projects for the development and maintenance of important open source software, and is open to students from universities around the world. Students can independently choose the project they are interested in to apply, and after being selected, they will develop under the guidance of the senior developer (community mentor) of the project. Depending on the difficulty and completion of the project, the finisher will receive the Open Source Summer event bonus and closing certificate.
The Summer of Open Source campaign is now in its fourth year. In the past three years, Open Source Summer has worked hand in hand with many thriving open source communities to continuously promote the popularization and promotion of open source technology among college students, so that more and more students participate in open source projects, and more excellent open source contributors and open source projects have emerged, providing strong support for promoting the development of open source ecology.
