In Liu Yitie's memory, Lin Xiaojie's every day in the crew was "immersive". The two traveled to and from the station and the shooting location almost every day, and they were also in the same lounge between work. Lin Xiaojie enrolled in the Shanghai Theater Academy that year, and there were some twists and turns. Lu Yanni: Does "The Long Season" bring back a lot of your own memories of your hometown in Tohoku?

L: Yes. I really feel that I have not left the northeast, because my family is still in the northeast, except for me, who has walked far alone, my parents and relatives are still in their hometown. Now that I think about it, Romesu really took a little from this cousin, and took a little more from that cousin, and I think that what is suitable for this character is used on it.

Lu Yanni: How long before this shoot, how long had you not touched the yarn?

Lin Xiaojie: Ouch, it's been decades, it should be the 80s of the 20th century, and it hasn't been knitted again. When I was a child, the sweaters were knitted by my mother, and there were various patterns, and they could be removed and re-knitted, and the good wool was removed and continued to knit, which was particularly warm. I remember that in the crew of "Life Is Not a One Way Road", the first time I got the subsidy, I bought woolen for my mother and knitted clothes, and also knitted it for my brother. Weaving wool, you don't have to look at it when it's cooked, you can knit it while chatting, your hands will not be idle, and you won't waste time.

Lu Yanni: Was it a very difficult choice to give up the profession of actor in the first place?

Lin Xiaojie: I had the opportunity (to continue performing) in Australia at the beginning, when I first went, a few of our alumni who attended the theater, as well as a few Chinese who were engaged in theater, did a drama together, called "Black Eyes", and rented a venue in a very large theater in Sydney, and the venue was full. After this experience, I also know more clearly, in a film crew, how many things the producers have to manage and how difficult they are, so as an actor, I try not to cause them any trouble, and do my job well, which is the best.

Lu Yanni: In the more than 20 years when you are not acting, do you still watch plays, watch dramas, and watch movies?

Yanni Lu: You're not the kind of person who defines yourself in terms of "what I do", you are the kind of person who knows "who I am" and then decides what to do, right?

Lin Xiaojie: Since I was a child, I have been a hard-working and not squeamish person. My mother sometimes said that she regretted letting her children work since she was a child, saying that our children are too capable of hardship and will be tired when they grow up in the future, but my father taught us to learn to work by ourselves since childhood, and it is useless to only be coquettish and crying.

Lin Xiaojie: Is that right? I don't seem to have heard this. I always feel that it is very important for women to be self-reliant, and I also feel that I have to rely on myself all my life. I have always been working all my life, I have never relied on anyone to support me, and I am still very proud, at least I can always do what I want to do, live myself, be my own master.

Lin Xiaojie: At that time, the director was based on his mother, and I stayed with his mother for a week to observe her and get to know her. His mother is a very real person, and she knew that I was going to create this character, so she told me all her life experiences and her understanding of things. At the premiere, I joked with the director that I knew more about your family than you did.

In today's society, girls will have too many identities, have social positions, and are children, wives... Many girls find it hard and difficult because they don't know how to sort it. For example, she wants to pursue her career, but she feels guilty about her children when she comes out to work. Do you have any experience to give?

Lin Xiaojie: In fact, everyone will have such troubles, sometimes it is really difficult to choose, depending on yourself, many things we have to grow in continuous choice and learning. When you don't have the conditions to balance, you have to believe that the choice you make is the best, don't feel guilty, because you must be doing your best to be the best self and the best mother, and the children will definitely understand the mother in the future. Everyone's dreams are different from what she likes and what she can do, so there is nothing to feel guilty about, go according to your own feelings, at that moment, you are worthy of yourself, worthy of others, worthy of conscience, you will never feel regret.

Lin Xiaojie: I came back to acting at this age because I like it, I just came to play, but I can't play sorry for others and sorry for myself. If I want to play, just have fun. I belong to the state of half-ticket friends and half-retirement, do something I like, and let me have no regrets in my future life.

Lin Xiaojie: I think for me, these are all wealth, as an actor, it is rare to have such an experience, I live steadily according to the way of ordinary people. I don't know (how to describe the specific value), these experiences were not deliberately chosen to be an actor, those choices were made to survive, to live better. In fact, many foreign actors have a second job outside of acting, perhaps this is a difference in philosophy.
