According to El País, Bayern Munich are ready to buy Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong for a high price of 105 million euros. Bayern Munich are determined to strengthen their squad and have a Dutch midfield as a key target.

Bayern Munich have had a mixed season, with weak league performances and early exit from the UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal. Thomas Tuchel and the club's management are therefore keen to make some major signings in the summer transfer window. According to German newspaper BILD, Tuchel has identified Frenkie de Jong as a player who fits perfectly with his football philosophy at the Allianz Arena.
De Jong
In fact, the German coach has already shown interest in the midfielder when he was in charge of Chelsea. Now a year on, De Jong has excelled at Barcelona and Tuchel is once again trying to secure the services of the talented midfielder. However, the value of the Dutchman has soared and the €85 million offered by Chelsea last summer will no longer be enough. Bayern Munich is therefore ready to make a substantial offer of 105 million euros.

While the offer may seem tempting, Barcelona are unlikely to accept the idea of parting from De Jong. With Gundogan in the Catalan club, head coach Xavi Hernandez envisioned a midfield quadro consisting of De Jong, Pedri, Garvey and Gundogan. This foursome is comparable to the best teams in Europe.

Selling De Jong would weaken the midfield and exacerbate the fulcrum problems after Sergio Busquets left. Given Barca's intentions, club president Joan Laporta seems unlikely to accept Bayern Munich's offer, regardless of its size. Manchester United have also shown interest in the Dutch midfielder following last season's arrival at Old Trafford by manager Eric Tenhag.
