The United West Team recently announced that they are working on a remake of Fallout: Van Buren based on Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout: Van Buren is actually the code name for the Fallout 3 game project that was previously produced by Black Island Studios and cancelled.
The production team said that the final name of the remake of Fallout: Van Buren will be Fallout: Blue of Revelation. The work will be produced using the engine and materials of Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3. The team promises to remake and add all of Fallout 2's classic weapons to the game.

Although the mod is still in its early stages, the development team has already set goals for the release of a demo version in the future. The demo version will provide a scene of the Tibbetts Prison facility, where players will experience a demo-length quest.
Fallout: Apocalypse Blue will use the mechanics of the original Fallout: New Vegas.
However, this mod will not consider Fallout: New Vegas as a canonical history, because Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout: Van Buren have many of the same characters, factions, plots, and cultures, so the development team decided to set the plot in 2253, which means that the fallout: New Vegas plot that happened after this is not recognized by this game.
The game is in a very early stage of development, so it's probably not possible to play it in the short term.
