On June 15, the Zhejiang Office of the World Internet Conference was established in Wuzhen Town, Tongxiang City and held an unveiling ceremony. On the same day, relevant leaders of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City and Tongxiang City, representatives of members of the conference and representatives of news media and other guests visited high-quality enterprises and characteristic parks in Wuzhen under the leadership of relevant responsible persons of Tongxiang City, to understand the current situation and future development trend of the local digital industry, and seek new opportunities for the development of digital economy.
The "Wuzhen Light" supercomputing center, which was recently included in the sequence of national supercomputing centers and became the 14th national supercomputing center in China, is the first inspection point of this membership day activity. Started construction in November 2020 and completed and put into use in September 2021, the "Wuzhen Light" supercomputing center, located next to Wuzhen Avenue in Tongxiang City, is the first large-scale supercomputing center in Zhejiang Province and the largest scientific device in northern Zhejiang.
Cao Mingming, general manager of "Wuzhen Light" supercomputing center, introduced that the "Wuzhen Light" supercomputing center, known as the "strongest brain" in Zhejiang, has "calculated" gratifying results - serving key laboratories, scientific research institutes, universities and innovative enterprises in the province, covering physical and chemical materials, biological information, artificial intelligence and other fields, and actively helping many enterprises and scientific research institutes to carry out scientific and technological innovation. In 2022, thanks to the strong drive of the "Light of Wuzhen" Industrial Park, the "three wisdom and one network" industry in Tongxiang will flourish, the output value of the intelligent computing industry will exceed 1 billion yuan, and super computing power is constantly being transformed into productivity.
Subsequently, representatives of member units came to the "Direct to Wuzhen" World Internet Industrial Park for inspection. In November last year, a global Internet competition "Direct to Wuzhen" focused on global attention, attracting 1,110 projects from 24 countries around the world to sign up for the competition, allowing dozens of high-precision projects to stand out in seven thematic competitions such as digital medical care and connected cars, and also making Wuzhen connect the dream of the global Internet. As a supporting facility for the landing of high-quality projects of the competition, the "Direct to Wuzhen" Industrial Park is a microcosm of Tongxiang's efforts to build a new highland of modern service industry, and it is also an important measure for the local area to undertake the dividends of the summit and build a high-quality innovation and development pilot zone.
Yan Gang, deputy mayor of Wuzhen Town, said that in the future, the park will focus on the layout of scientific research and innovation, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, talent entrepreneurship, competition activities and other ecology, build a cooperation platform for domestic and foreign digital economy projects, technologies, talents and capital, and continuously explore new technologies, new industries, new formats and new models for the development of the digital economy.
