In fact, finding vulnerabilities is only the most daily job of cybersecurity engineers, and the more "thrilling" task is to defend against external attacks.

On a Friday evening a few years ago, a business office of China Mobile reported that the computer terminal had repeatedly restarted the blue screen. In the context of the ransomware virus sweeping the world, Ding Yu is keenly aware that this is by no means a simple failure. Before he could eat, he rushed to the scene and gathered his team members to conduct forensic analysis and research, confirming the initial judgment that the ransomware virus was invading. Prevention and control of computer viruses is as urgent as epidemic prevention, Ding Yu and team members fought all night, and finally stopped the pace of the virus at key nodes, and formulated a safety manual to guide the operation of business halls of other outlets. Early the next morning, the business halls of China Mobile Yunnan Company opened for business normally, and the crisis was resolved. Ding Yu has handled nearly 20 such safety accidents in recent years.

"Security Guard", "Hacker Buster"... The work of cybersecurity engineers may seem mysterious, but more often than not, they are in front of computer screens, day after day, facing huge and complex data, checking for defects and filling in leaks, and weaving security protection networks.

China Mobile Yunnan Company has more than 30 million users and more than 60,000 internal accounts, standardizing the operation of management personnel and protecting the interests of enterprises and users, which has become the direction that Ding Yu has been working towards.

Ding Yu has been responsible for the maintenance and management of the 4A security control platform. In order to further unify the user identity information of each IT system and provide secure unified authentication, in 2018, he led the planning of the evolution of the 4A system to the company-level user center and certification center. At present, the system has been running stably, can quickly synchronize user identity and organizational data for 20 group-level and provincial-level systems at the same time, and realize that everyone, every account, and every system login can be controlled, manageable and traceable through pre-management, in-process control, and post-audit.

In recent years, Ding Yu has led his team to win good results in many network security competitions across the country and the province, and each achievement comes from his daily diligent study and research. As a key member of China Mobile's network security expert and network security virtual crowd testing team "Caiyun Team", he often brainstorms with his teammates and continuously improves his professional skills. In his spare time, he set himself the goal of obtaining one or two professional certificates every year, so that he could always maintain a state of systematic learning.

Ding Yu said: "The most important job of a network security engineer is to plan ahead, and the pace cannot be stopped."
