Failing the college entrance examination became a watershed in my life.
When I was in my second year of high school, I secretly set a small goal - to be admitted to the journalism department of Fudan University. In the end, I did read journalism, but it was a journalism department at three universities.
The learning atmosphere of the three universities is basically 0, most people just want to mix a diploma, and the popularity of the library is only high a few days before the fourth or sixth level.
In class, students who skip class and sleep are half-open, even if they watch dramas and play games in the dormitory every day.
But at that time, I didn't realize the problem, and they all said that it would be easy to get to college after the college entrance examination, and I thought to myself, maybe this is normal college life. So he took his family's hard-earned money to pay high tuition fees and lay down at school.
The real awareness of the problem is actually after work.
After graduating, I met a lot of people. There are graduates from prestigious schools, and there are also diplomas like me who have mixed diplomas at third-rate universities.
The gap between them is not actually the depth of professional knowledge, but more the level of comprehensive literacy.
The most obvious is the ability to learn. Because they keep learning during college, they are significantly better able to learn new things;
The second is the ability to execute/lead projects, which includes multiple capabilities such as planning, communication, coordination, and organization. Such people generally participate in various competitions when they are in college, and their control of the project is stronger than that of ordinary fresh college students;
It also includes judgment about something. People who have seen the bigger world are more tolerant of things, and they can judge the direction and potential of something based on social trends, rather than "the world around them".
It can be said that the quality of college determines the second starting point of our life. The end point where we tried our best may just be the beginning for some people.
But a low starting point does not mean that you will always be behind, and if you can realize this problem early, everything will be in time.
Today, the college entrance examination for most high school seniors has ended. But the dust has not settled, and regardless of the test, the next three months are the key to opening the gap with peers.
During these three months, remember to do the following things:
1. Have fun.
After a hard college entrance examination, you must relax. Take a graduation trip with friends, or play the game you want to play at home, it's up to you;
2. Understand the university situation in advance.
After filling in the volunteer, in fact, which school you can go to can basically be determined. From the school's official website, official account and other ways, first understand the school and major in advance, including teaching characteristics, school advantages, accommodation and canteen conditions, etc., so that you will not be confused when enrolling.
3. Plan for four years of college in advance.
What kind of university life do you want to live? What challenges (e.g. competitions, clubs, scholarships, etc.) do you want to complete in four years? What are your plans after four years (graduate school, official or work)?
These issues can be planned well before enrollment. If you have the opportunity, talk to the school teacher or senior brother and sister in advance.
Planning well will make the four years of college more purposeful and fulfilling.
4. Maintain the habit of reading and learning.
Many people will become tired of studying after the college entrance examination, so that they give up studying completely, and they can't even pass the English level 4 test in college.
But learning is lifelong, and even if it's an unsupervised summer vacation, you can set yourself some learning tasks.
For example, read a few books in three months, learn a skill (PPT, python, etc.), or listen to an English listening article every day.
Finally, I want to say that the college entrance examination is really important, it is the most direct and simple way for ordinary people to achieve their ideals; But the college entrance examination is not so important, because even if the starting point is not so high, every step taken in the future can change the direction of life.
